šŸˆ While everyone concentrates on the flaws, BAMA is the only team in the top ten in both O and D in the nation.

But then you look at total yardage and plays. That's the difference. Over 50 plays and 1,000 extra yards.
Ok I must be missing something:

Rushing D - UGA 781 Bama 835 - delta - 54
Passing D - UGA 1678 Bama 2068 - delta - 390
# of plays - UGA 632 Bama 625 - delta 7 plays

Where do you get 50 plays and 1000 extra yards?

My bad, my bad. I was looking at Wisconsin's numbers. My apologies.
No problem. When I read it I was honestly surprised how close the numbers were between the two teams since the puppies are getting all of the press. Big difference is consistency and ppg in my view. Puppies seem to be playing with more confidence and agressiveness.

I agree with everything you have said. Consistency has been our nemesis this year. Georgia seems to stay even keel, and even with the Tennessee game, they continued to play their physical type of defense and even with injuries were able to smother Tennessee and make adjustments. But yes, I'm as surprised as you are about it being so close. The Ole Miss game really helped our numbers big time. Texas A&M and Florida killed us. We both played Tennessee pretty even, so those two games are probably the difference. I know I keep saying we'll learn more about our defense after "this game", but I really think we can show some consistency and growth with how we play Arkansas this weekend. Georgia showed they could absolutely dominate, so here is our chance. Late in the season, everyone is tiring and beat up, but here we are fighting for our Playoff lives each week, so here is where we find out if these guys have what it takes.

Bama D has improved. With that said they have hiccups occasionally. Do not need those against the puppies and for sure do not need turnovers. Bama has historically buried people after mistakes and the puppies are doing that this year. Do not do that and then I like Bama's chances. The spread is also close (-3) which reflects that people really do not think there is as big of a difference as you are thinking.

The difference is that our offense is better than theirs. It's not that our defenses are neck and neck, it's that the gap between both offenses is far a part and the defensive side is closer.

Mark my words, we better spy Bennett. We CANNOT allow him to run for first downs and have that aspect of his game available. If we shut that down, we can stop their backs and their weaker receiving corps. Bennett's sneaky speed and running ability is how Georgia got on top of Florida and Tennessee in their two closer games. Think of how Clemson used Trevor Lawrence when he would pull from the back and head around the end.

These programs are not BAMA. Their QB play and turnovers killed them when it was all said and done.

No duh, but Florida still came within a point of beating us. On any given day a team can play it up and beat you. Same can happen to us, look at Texas A&M. We're not unbeatable either like you're trying to make us sound. We got beat by an inferior team, so try and quit talking like we have all the answers that no one else has/had.

I believe you are trying to make UGA unbeatable. They are not. That is what I am debating at least with the voices in my head :).

I'd love for you to go back and find anywhere I have said that. I haven't been sunshine pumping Alabama like you have, but I have consistently said we have the team to beat them. I've said that all year long. I've said the team that went to Gainesville and College Station won't, but the team we have can.

Fair enough... I wish Bama was playing better honestly and I would give the edge to the puppies but we are dangerous.

Oh yeah, we definitely are. We have the most and best talent in the country. We are a National Championship caliber team in a down year for college football, we just gotta do it. Next year? We should dominate the entire country with no one coming close.

Post from another board by the only non-delusional Georgia fan on the face of the Earth. Topic was CFP Rankings.

"UGA is virtually in already, with two pastries on the slate and then even a loss in the CG would probably keep them in. You can pencil them in, rightly or wrongly.

Incidentally, a team can beat UGA the old fashioned way, stop the run, which is doable, they have been significantly slowed by teams like Missouri this year until the second half. Make Stetson beat you with his arm. If they got George Pickens back at WR it would help, a lot, but I don't expect that. Just stop the run first, and get them into second and third in 6-8 yards, and shadow the QB so he doesn't run."

I agree with this and goes in line with what I said yesterday about ghosting him and not letting his scrambling ability hurt us.

Bennett's ability to run (both called runs in zone read) and scramble (pass plays where protection breaks down) is the key to their offense really. Really good observation. Their run game is good, it's not elite. Their passing game is OK. The D will have to stop the in-breaking routes from slot receivers on 3rd down - especially vs the blitz. Bennett can't beat you throwing the ball outside the hashes regularly, and not under pressure. He's also likely to gift wrap you one INT a game.

I agree. Although it's that one over the shoulder dime that worries me in a game against us. Likely to be a highly contested game, it could also break the damn like it has to other teams they have played this season. I know we have two games left, but I get nervous and like to talk about it, ha ha.
