💬 Which player(s) around UA are going to get the most from the NIL monies?

Better buy our football players cheap this year, because they will be household names in no time. I wish we could have seen what guys like Davonta, Waddle, Hurts, Tua, Jeudy, Najee, Surtain, Moses, and others would have made. We know our boys, but the country doesn't, so get them cheap now as I said. That being said, Bryce Young will make some cash, Agiye Hall, Malachie Moore, and John Metchie will make some as well. Buy Jase McClellan, Jojo Earl, and Camar Wheaton early!

JD Davidson will be a guy from the basketball team to watch.

Good for them. Bad for college sports

but wth!!!!

there is going to be a lot of bid wars for players. And a lot of prima-donnas walking around campus. .... Or driving their vettes/ Mercedes....etc

playing college sports and getting educated youse to be enough
What most of us grew up dreaming of ( thanks VN... took a lot of us 19-22 year olds away)

But getting the government involved.... and things get F@@ked quickly

IMO, Alabama and other schools will take steps to minimize the use of NIL in their marketing efforts. I also wouldn’t be surprised if they put any compensation into a community pool so that any $$ are distributed more equitably.

You think Alabama's going socialism?!

Not a great way to sign 5 starts of the future....

"Whatever you can get here.... You share with the punter!" :ROFLMAO:
I think if a handful of players get all the money, there will be issues in the locker room and on the field. In the NFL, whoever goes to the Super Bowl distributes SB checks equally to all players, whether or not they played in the game.

Well @OldPlayer .... I'll give you this... If nothing else, your hypothesis is going to attract some hellacious punters! 🐘

On a serious note, the players on those NFL teams are all signed to different contracts, bonuses, and marketing deals.

UofSC uses their players on billboards for ticket sales. I don't see that continuing unless they pay the players themselves.

The thought crossed my mind of having a company sponsor a team but I don't know if they would allow things like outfield fences to turn into billboards.

"...competition in a community pool..." What compensation? A players compensation going into a team pool?

Thats the way it should be.
but we all know one school that will spare no wxpense

I'm not a smart person, but I've thought that was a good way to go from the start. IMO, after a certain amount per year, say $30,000 for example, the rest either goes into a sort of rolling savings account for the player that opens up after eligibility is complete (or opens up the next year that the player doesn't reach the max cap). Or, the player can direct a portion of money (however much they wish) to go into a team or athletic department wide fund (for the athletes that won't earn as much). All of it could be handled confidentially in house by a staff that would also help the athletes with any tax issues and such. If an individual player sells their autograph, time (i.e. instructional lesson/camps [already happens]), do advertisements, sponsorships, etc... they earn individual money. If a team does advertisements for a company/business, jersey sales, etc., the money goes into a team pool to be distributed.

I don't want to see that, but some schools like Arkansas are already pretty much doing it. Very NASCAR'ish. But that is the stuff that is going to happen in the ripple effect of all of this....
