Alabama has released its 2016 Media Guide.

In there is an updated roster with updated player measurements.

Here are some players that have added or dropped notable weight since the spring:

— Senior outside linebacker Tim Williams has gained 15 pounds. After weighing in at 237 pounds during the spring, the 6-foot-4 Williams is up to 252.

— Redshirt freshman quarterback Blake Barnett is up from 198 to 211.

Great stuff! Every single one of those seems to make sense. Only one that surpises me a little bit is Brandon Greene losing weight... Thought maybe they would beef him up and add him to the Tackle competition. But if he's losing weight, maybe he stays at blocking TE.

Like to see Josh McMillon losing weight already. He's such a big LB out of high school I thought he may end up at DE (like Jon Allen did). But the staff must value him at MLB which is great, since there are some snaps to be had in the near future.

Amazing how dialed in Saban/Cochran has this program. So much detail goes into these guys development, so if the kids just do what they're supposed to, they get better in a hurry.

Lastly, looks like Tim Williams getting prepped to play run defense. Adding 15 lbs is no joke. Hope he keeps his speed as well!

It will be interesting to see if Williams keeps his quick first step - I guess if it's a pure 15 lbs of muscle that might be ok.

I sure hope Shank gets his weight down! Or he WILL be riding the pine!

He's been working on that very thing for quite awhile now. I suspect there's a reason and it's to keep his name and progress out of the headlines. If a reporter is worth his salt, he'll bring him up tomorrow—likely getting a very vague answer other than "he's working hard..."
