Why didn't Roy Upchurch play saturday? Is he injured?

Had neck spasms before the game. Think CNS answered that in the after game presser. It was something that popped up right before they went out to warm up.

He is hurt, and probably more seriously than what was led to believe. His status for the immediate future is very uncertain. There are a LOT of other banged up players too. Several got nicked up in the LSU game... you just wouldn't know it, because unlike other teams, our boys don't lay around on the ground and wait for help every time they get banged up. Several players played though some injuries on Saturday, and while it hampered their play some, they toughed it out.

Earl Alexander was the only one that Saban mentioned. He had a separated shoulder in the game. He is day-to-day.

Most of the other guys that were banged up on Saturday kept playing, so they probably went light today and maybe again tomorrow, but should be good to go again on Saturday. The looming off week is coming at a good time for several of these guys though.

Andre, Coffee, McCall, Julio, Alexander to name a few. The toughness of this team is pretty remarkable though considering they are still less than 2 years removed from Shula.

He certainly has an opportunity to get some reps now, but his style is still different from Roy's. I think this also opens up some possible reps for Demetrius Goode, if Roy's situation turns out to be a long term situation.

He moved back to running back a long time ago...actually seen some action this year during a game as well.
