Sometime in the early 90s, during a spring practice, Coach Stallings wandered over to watch the placekickers. Once kicker had been doing very well in practice to that point, but when Coach came over he missed three in a row. Stallings said something to the special-teams coach, and the kicker looked over and said "I'm sorry, Coach -- you make me nervous."

Stallings said, "Son, I'm going to be at every game."
