Just checkin in with my Bammer buds. A congrats is due to RGIII on the Heisman. :icon_salut: Happy OU could contribute to that cause. NOT :dazed: Nothing I can say about my Sooners without any expletives and 4 letter words. :no-no: I don't mind losing, but the effort against ok st was the worst I've ever seen it in Stoops' tenure at OU. Rumor mill going around about some changes being made, but I'll be shocked if Stoops actually makes any.

Congrats to Alabama for getting another shot at lsu. Hope you guys stomp a mudhole in them. The honey badger may be a crazy f'n animal and a retarded nickname for a football player, but it can be stomped by an elephant. :elephant:

Merry Christmas everyone and BE SAFE!!! I'll be around here.

Good to see you back over here. I too was speechless when your Sooners laid an egg against the Cowboys.

How are the natives feeling about Big Game Bob? I know that OU is passionate about football, but I'm not sure if it is quite the same fishbowl that coaches live in here in the deep south. I think Stoops is certainly in the top 10 of coaches in the country, but I wonder after 10 years of taking you guys right up to the edge, but not being able to get over the hump if anybody (with power) is getting tired of it. Alabama and OU both went through periods of non-relevance, and I know we are thoroughly enjoying being mentioned in the same breath as the elite of CFB, but fans are fickle and will turn on you quicker than a rattle-snake.

Anywho, stay on board with us through the year, and keep us posted on what happens out west.

Hey, Jeronimo! Nice to see you here again.

That game was really pathetic on the part of the Sooners'… I really wouldn't be surprised if they were paid to lose or something. It was a bad game that just didn't seem right. They should've done better.

See you around, and good luck with everything.

Well Rammer, there is a lot of different emotions here in Norman right now. No one wants Bob gone at all, but most believe he is entirely too loyal to his asst coaches. D Coord Brent Venables has been on the chopping block with fans for a few years now. I hate to say it, but we're so used to OU being right on the cusp of titles that I think most Sooner fans are not as bummed out as we were from 01-08. OU seems to be good for a couple of clunkers every year and when they happen, I think we're more numb to it now. There is not as much finger pointing this year. Its more speechless than anything. OU fans once got bored with Switzer not winning a title and probation led him out of town to fall to consistent 9-4ish seasons and even further to losing seasons in the late 90's. Sooner fans are spoiled and Bob can't continue not winning a title much longer. Something is definitely missing in Norman though. No one can put a finger on it though.

Capt, I said the same thing about OU's effort against ok st. It really looked like OU was paid to lose that game. It looked that blatant. I'm guessing football is just as serious here in Norman as it is in the Deep South. Some fans have gone apeshit over the decades, posting threatening signs in coaches front yards, verbally threatening family members of coaches, etc. The old "almost every other school would love to be Oklahoma" thing does not work for OU fans. It doesn't work with me either. We are Oklahoma. Titles belong in places like Norman, upper SEC, etc. We(all of us) expect titles every so often, especially when you have teams and coaches like Stoops, Saban, Miles, etc at the helm because we know valleys are coming so we gotta win them while we're at least able.

Totally understand your meaning Jeronimo, most fans call us arrogant for expecting success like we should at schools like Oklahoma and Bama, I see nothing wrong with expecting success as fans, and good money is being payed to coaches like Stoops and Saban, they should produce. I have always respected the Sooners and Elite teams of the like, because of the pressure they are in on a constant basis to produce, its hell being a fan of these teams sometimes, but I wouldn't trade my Love for the Tide for nothing. Good luck to you and your Sooners in the Bowl game.

Thanks Bama, its refreshing to see your post talking about dealing with being called arrogant. Your love for the Tide is extremely similar to thousands of fans' love for the Sooners. OU fans constantly get called "arrogant" "classless", and we hear it most from ok st fans, simply because OU's standards are extremely higher than ok st and almost all but a handful of other schools too. I see can see the other fans side in that OU just went 9-3, after having a heap of 2 or 1 loss seasons chalk full of BCS games and a few title games, and OU fans are pissed about this 9-3?? DAMN RIGHT we are. Most call it arrogance, but fans like us call it EXPECTATION. It comes with the territory, and fans of those schools who call us classless and arrogant will never understand it. I figured you Tide fans had this very problem, but thank you Bama for confirming it. Just one more thing OU/Tide fans have in common.

Good luck Crimson Tide, I will be rooting like hell for you guys.
