🏈 What was your most exciting game you have ever been to?

I'm sure Alabama has a TON of games you guys could throw out there. I have quite a few from my days at OU. Course I sat through the 90's when we REALLY sucked too. The likes of Tulsa, Iowa St, Cal, and Kansas beating us at home. :dazed: But Stoops brought us good years of course. But the most exciting game I've seen in person wasn't even a win for OU. Well, sort of. I was at the 2006 OU-oregon game in Eugene Ore. yeah, THAT game. Of course I absolutely hate everything about that game, but it is near the top of "most exciting" for me in person. Maybe its the most dramatic too.

1992 National Championship game, sitting in the student section. I can't think of any way that it could have been better...without adding storming the field afterwards or kicking one of those win a prize fieldgoals myself.

The Penn State game in Birmingham where Derrick Thomas made something like 1,303 sacks was special.

There was a Georgia game in BDS back when Erik Zier was their QB that was a real shootout as I recall. (Cheered so hard I gave myself a headache.)

1985 Iron Bowl---the only one I've seen in person. Bama got the ball back with less than a minute remaining, trailing 23-22. Mike Shula got sacked right after the drive started. There was a fourth-down conversion. Shula had all day to throw on the next-to-last play of the game. Greg Richardson was his fourth choice on the play, and he hit him slanting across the field. Richardson was a little dude, but he carried the Auburn db out of bounds (the Tide had no time outs and six seconds on the clock). The ball was right around the 35 yard line. Van Tiffin came in to attempt a 52 yd field goal, and he had already missed a 52 yarder earlier in the game. But he drilled this one right down the middle, with plenty of distance to spare. It was the 50th meeting between the Tide and Tigers, and I don't think it will ever be surpassed.

The lead changed four times in the fourth quarter, including the field goal that went over the crossbar as time expired.

I will never forget Paul Kennedy's play by play---"It has distannnnnnnnnce---IT'S GOOD! IT'S GOOD! IT'S GOOD!"

I don't get too many opportunities to go to Alabama games...used to go when I was younger, with my grandfather. Best one he ever took me to was the '92 Iron Bowl. Bama won 17-0...my two favorite players on that team were David Palmer, and Antonio Langham. Langham had a pick six that I remember seeing like it was yesterday.

2005 Alabama/Florida game. First play from scrimmage was an 80 TD pass to Prothro. We never let up.

Tebow was in attendance at that game being recruited by Shula. Absolute electric atmosphere.

A close second would be the LSU game that same year. I don't think I can remember the quad ever being so crowded. A New Orleans radio station was broadcasting from the quad, and the crowd was crazy. The fly over was amazing. I thought the KC-135 was going to hit the crane in the north end zone during the fly over. (They were finishing the north endzone expansion at the time)

Best Flyover I've ever experienced. The KC135 had "Roll Tide" painted on the bottom of the wings too. I still get chills seeing it on video. (pause at 6 sec. to see under the wings)

Even though it wasn't a W, the 1967 FSU game at Legion field. A great atmosphere. Alabama was coming off one of its greatest seasons ever (The Uncrowned Champions), was led by kenny Stabler and Dennis Homan on offense and Bobby Johns on defense. FSU had Steve Tensi at QB and future hall of famer Fred Biletnikoff as a receiver. Stabler had been bad during tyhe off season and did not start because of it.

The game was a total sellout and several thousand more were milling around in the Legion Field parking lot. The efforts of some fans to climb the fence to get in actually brought down the fense and a few thousand ticketless fans poured in. In the process they did some damage to the even then antique electrical system there and the scoreboard cclock got knocked out.

With Stabler on the bench the Noles started fast, and back up Joe Kelly could not move the Tide offense. With the Noles leading 14-0 Stabler came in to thunderous applause. In the remaining time Stabler led us to four touchdowns and three field goals, but we never completely stopped their offense, and the game ended in a 37-37 tie. I know that I was as worn out as if I had played in the game after that one.

Since the question was most exciting game not the one I enjoyed the most I am going to go with the 2003 5 overtime loss to Tennessee 51-43. I have never had more ups and downs experienced at a ball game and was completely drained after the game but it sure was exciting.

oh man, when Air Force was in Norman there were 4 F-15's that did a LOW flyover that shook the stadium and a KC-10 that flew over for the halftime events. The F-15 pilots were recognized on the field after the 3rd Q, and they received a HUGE and loud ovation and it got even louder when they ripped their flight suits open and had Air Force blue t-shirts with upside down horns on them. Talk about one of those epic moments that only those who were in the stadium will never forget.

Great read Terry. Thanks for attaching.

Interesting bullet point there regarding holding ZEIRE to 260 something yards in passing. That was the 52 straight game that Bama had held opposing QBs to under 300 yards pass, dating back to a '85 game against Brett Favre.

I hate to be a pest, but the Brett Favre game was 1990. Unfortunately I was at that game. Stalling's first.

On July 14, 1990, before the start of Favre's senior year of college, he was involved in a near-fatal accident. When going around a bend a few tenths of a mile from his parents' house, Favre lost control of his car, which flipped three times and came to rest against a tree. It was only after one of his brothers smashed a car window with a golf club that Favre could be evacuated to the hospital. In the ambulance, his mother was sitting with him. "All I kept asking [her] was 'Will I be able to play football again?'" Favre recalled later. Doctors would later remove 30 inches of Favre's small intestine. Six weeks after this incident, on September 8, Favre led Southern Miss to a comeback victory over Alabama. Alabama coach Gene Stallings said, "You can call it a miracle or a legend or whatever you want to. I just know that on that day, Brett Favre was larger than life."

Oh, and I have been lucky enough to attend some great games.

at BDS- I would say 2005 Florida because it was so loud and the out come (minus Prothro injury) was awesome. Or the 2008 Iron Bowl because you can't go wrong with a 36-0 spanking of Auburn. Close game I would say the 2002 UGA game -When Charlie Peprah picked it off and ran it back I jumped about 4 rows down. The loudest single moment I can recall at BDS. What was funny is a play before I said we need a pick, and after the TD a guy goes can you say again on their next play. LOL

at Legion- I would have to say the 1988 Penn State game -DT need I say more. I think he had 5 sacks, 2 blocked kicks and a Safety. I think 8-3 was the final.

Bowl- BCS National Championship game. Loved it. Pasadena draped in Crimson and Burnt Orange. Keith Jackson doing the coin toss. I can hear the angels sing. lol

Oh man I was there too. Its the only time I've seen Bama and Vols fans leave a stadium and neither really saying much. I think the palyers and fans were drained. And with each overtime start the PA announcer would say .."time for more free football!!"
