🏈 What was the hardest, most difficult, Alabama loss ever for you to take?

Kick Six. It was my first time in Jurden Hair as an Alabama fan. Massive game, I got a last second call and drove from Atlanta, ran to the stadium, and got in my seat as they were setting up for kick off. It was probably our most talented team in the Saban era to this point, and we just had so much going for us. I was so involved in the whole bit with my journey to get there, being on the second row behind our sideline on about the fifteen yard line, and we looked good for most of the first half and then Auburn rallied back. We fought back in the end only to watch the unfortunate miracle unfold. it happed in the endzone I was sitting near, and just crushed me. I drove there by myself, sat by myself, left by myself, and rode home by myself hearing "Go to hell Alabama" and the reverse of Rammer Jammer. It was a tough one all around.

The A&M loss was tough/jaw dropping as well. Had a big tailgate, a lot of money involved, spent all day just enjoying ourselves, first game big game at Bryant-Denny for my wife and I. It was just set up to be a good day, and from the get go we were behind and I just couldn't believe what I was seeing. Got on a high when Coop broke free for that long touchdown as I was right on the goal line in the student section on that walkway when he came running at us. The interception in the end sealed it and it was more of a mouth dropping loss than hurtful.

1973 loss to ND in the Sugar Bowl
I was six. I remember that day as if it were yesterday.

Mr. Hunt was an older guy who attended the same church. Every Sunday morning he'd give me a quarter for a simple, "Roll Tide." I remember his telling me not to forget that feeling or to whom it came against.

Crazy thing is...that's one of the earliest memories I have of my childhood and it still sticks with me today.

2010 iron bowl

got tickets to that game. we were up big at the half, but i had a feeling auburn would find a way to make it close. and sure enough, they did and won.

to this day, it still pisses me off how that game played out in the 2nd half. it's like all our guys just didn't play as hard in the 2nd half as they did in the 1st.

of course that was also the year the usce qb played like a super bowl champion against us. that game sucked, but the iron bowl was way worse for me because we had that game won until the 2nd half.

a close second would have to be the iron bowl where Brodie got sacked like 80 times. i remember having graduation (from technical school) the following day. one of my instructors was a huge auburn fan. he smiled at me when i walked into the room where we were all gathering before the ceremony. he came over to me and said something about the game. i gave him a look that apparently scared him or something because he apologized and just walked away. i damn near laid his ass out. he was a good guy, but that game and then him saying something the next day nearly sent me over the edge.

Fixed it for you! I honestly think the 2013 team was an under performing team and our secondary was terrible.

I think it was the most well rounded team Saban has put on the field. We had the best line in college football history, a solid quarterback, very good tailbacks, and the receivers were solid. Defense was filled with studs and future first rounders galore.

I agree with you that the 2016 team that lost to Clemson was outrageously talented on the defensive side, but the offensive side had it's question marks. I also feel our cornerbacks were lacking. I see more holes on the offensive side of the ball here than I do with the 2012 team.

I was 9 when Daddy and I attended my 1st Bama game in 1959. Bama had 4 players from my hometown on that team. Bama beat Memphis State 17-7 but only after a great goal line stand in that endzone( with the wood bleachers dead folks endzone). The punter was Tommy White (my hometown) and TW booted one 81 yardss while standing almost on the endline of that endzone. I believe he is about #5 or #6 on the list for the longest punts in Bama history. Tommy's sister was a cheerleader for our HS and she married a assistant coach from Bibb County named Pete Steele....and their son is none other than Kevin Steele.

In 2016 the only hole I seen on the entire team was a Freshman QB; if we could have had Coker for one more year we would have beat everyone by 50. 2012? 2012 had to be the best offense in Alabama history.

Cade Foster shet the bed that day. I give Nick credit for not playing to win as a big reason we lost but again Foster had a real chance late in the 4th to kick a less than 40 yard FG (actually made one and the penalty ended that) and that would have given Bama a 10 pt lead making it very difficult for the Barn to get 10 instead just 7.

2013.....loss to AU... we were headed for 3 peat as sure as death....had everything except a FG kicker.....the 1980 loss to miss state... not sure the 1980 team wasnt Bears best...headed for a 3-peat....
But i was a kid...when we loss to Ga Tech in 1962...for sure headed to a National Championship...... only time i ever cried over a football game loss....
a hell of a lot others....

A group of my friends made that trip to Jackson ,MS from Montgomery for both the Ole Miss Game and the MSU game in 80. That trip back after the Don Jacobs shet the bed game was a long long trip. I went to The Ham for the ND game as well that year and again Jacobs shet the bed fumbling down on the Bama goal line as well. Had John Fourcade signed with Bama instead of Steve Sloan and the Johnny Rebs Bama would have won those 3 in row for sure. Walter Lewis wasn't ready in 1980.

That f*ing Kick 6. So many missed opportunities.... The way that game ended was absolutely sickening!

Have to add the 2010 Scam Knewton IB as well. Went down for that game and had such a great weekend.... Until halftime. That Auburn group was the height of their obnoxious coaches/roster/fans. Still don't know how Ingram's fumble didn't roll out of bounds... Nightmares of Mark Barron's deep ball flub (due to injury)

Like I have said before, That 1973 Sugar Bowl loss. It was a night game and my wife wanted to go to a New Year party. We went but I wan't a very good guest. Also I will put in "Punt Bama *****", and the Lick 6.
