Bamabacker

At the risk of starting an arguement, it appears that he is not as game-changing in the last few games. Moses looks dynamic.
Is Mack injured? He seems to be missing tackles, possibly assignments and at half speed on some plays. I'm not used to seeing an Alabama LB looking like they are taking plays off.

Earlier this year, if I am correct, he re-aggravated his foot injury from last year. I don't think he's 100%. BUT - Saban has also been looking for his next alpha dog on D and I thought Wilson was going to be it- not so. Several times last night the call came in from the sideline and he had to process- he didn't know where to go and was late getting involved in the play.

The overall defense played fantastic and limited a really good offense. I understand that there are even more pressure on MLBs with the advent of more RPOs and mixed variabled offenses but he's moving slow to the ball on a lot of plays.

I haven't noticed him looking any worse than last season or earlier this season... Never really expected him to be of that McClain/Hightower/Foster cloth because they were freakishly talented. Even Rashaan Evans had incredible quickness. Pretty sure he's basically been injured since early last season so he's been a warrior... Think some of his reads/decisions/coverages in the passing game could use some improvement but if he's not on the field we are in a world of hurt. And IMO he's a much better player than Moses... On a few different levels

I think the restrictions on how a D player can hit the ball carrier is having an impact. At least, that's what I was thinking on some of the plays that I was seeing. Players aren't quite as aggressive because they don't want to get ejected from the game. Do any of you think that rule is having an impact on the way D is played now?

Not as much in college as the NFL. Certain players are clearly not being as aggressive against QBs and receivers but I dont think Alabama has that issue right now. Deionte Thompson is looking to decapitate someone on nearly every play.

Prime example of that happened in the KC/NE game tonight. LB for KC, Speeks, has Brady in the grasp but for fear of a penalty and thinking Brady has thrown the ball, he lets him go. Problem was, Brady had pump faked and once let loose, he walked into the end zone for a TD.

I think Collinsworth over played that... He wasn't scared of a penalty. Brady just shook him off and made the play

IDK, I see where he is coming from on this.

There wasn't much "shaking" going on. I could def. see where he had that thought in his head "if I make this hit and he threw the ball I'm gonna get flagged." Problem is you can see where that might have gone through his head. The officials/rules are screwing the game up that bad.
