Of the list, Vlachos is the only one that is even on the radar, IMO. He backed up Caldwell, and has gotten some work at guard as well.

I haven't seen anyhing about Gibson leaving the team, and he did play a little bit in one of the blowouts if memory serves. Still, considering the problem we had with receivers not named Julio, you'd think he would have seen the field if he was even in the same class as Alexander or McCoy.

We'll see Vlachos a lot next year.

McCullough was the defensive player of the game at A-Day last year then got moved to offense. We'll have to wait and see how he pans out in his new position.

Out of the list, I'm most surprised that we haven't seen much from Watkins. Although he's still a young guy. I think it's a mix of his style and his weight. He is at jack linebacker and doesn't have the size for it and seems to have struggled to bulk up. Upshaw was able to come in, throw on 20 lbs real quick and took his spot. I've been anxious to see Watkins in the rotation though. He has a sick spin move off the end. Not much of a coverage guy though. I can see him transferring as he's just too good to be on the bench IMO.

Harbin was a true freshmen so the jury is still out. He is also at the jack position and will probably stay behind Upshaw and Fanney next year. I think when he's a junior and fills out his frame, he'll be a good one.

All the others just have too much talent in front of them. I thought there was a chance for Kirschman to make a case for himself this year, but it didn't work out that way.

I'm not sure about the Sugar Bowl...gotta check that one.

But, he has played in three games this year; Arkansas, Arkansas State, and Western Kentucky.

If you ever think you see Matt Caddell back on the field, that's Gibson. haha.

Also, I think everyone will know exactly who Darius Hanks is next year. He wasn't the most sought after recruit, but he's a hard worker and will do everything in his power to get a ball. I remember watching our receivers doing drills and warm ups before the season and he just stood out from the rest. Great footwork and really crisp cuts. Caught everything that came his way.

i've heard nothing but positives about Hanks, but he just looks too light. i'm guessing he's had difficulty with putting on weight.

Well, I don't really think so. I agree he does look kinda light, but compared to how he looked as a freshman, I'd say he's already managed to add about 20 lbs. I think he's listed at 6'0 but you may want to check that, and is around 190. I'm pretty sure he was under 170 when we signed him. Another off season and he could come in around 200 and hopefully not lose any speed. It's amazing at how big Scott looks considering Hanks has been listed as bigger.

We can thank Burton Burns for Hanks being here. I recall a conversation with a Clemson fan before we hired Burns about Hanks and him having seen DH play in HS.

Evidently, Burns was very high on Darius, Tommy Bowden and Dabo weren't.

When he visited the fact that Art Briles (he was still at Houston) wanted him for his offense really stuck out to me.
