#1 Bama/Auburn -- In state rivalry means that its still big in April, May, and June becuase with live togther. With both programs being supported so well, see the size of the stadiums, all games are important, so the "state championsip" is bigger than the Mississippi or Tennessee state championship.
Florida's biggest could be argued to be FSU... Georgia's Georgia Tech...S. Carolina"s Clemson...Kentucky's Louisville...Vandy's Tennessee, but Tennessee does not see it the same so no joy there...Ole Miss' MissState and vica versa, but the programs are too small to challenge for "the biggest...LSU's OleMiss (historically), but Ole Miss does not see it the same...Arkansas' I'm not sure about, but it does not challenge other rivalries.
To me the measure of a good rivalry must be taken 6 months removed from kick off. If it ain't big then, then it ain't important. This is why Bama/Auburn, Army/Navy, Yankees/Red Sox and the like are contenders for the best rivalries.
