"While the focus of offseason concerns centered on who Moore might be throwing to, Petersen didn’t hesitate when asked his biggest worry: linebacker and defensive back. The Broncos defensive line, anchored by Shea McClellin, Billy Wynn and Chase Baker, is as deep a unit as there is in the country.

But the Broncos lost starting linebacker Winston Venable and starting strong safety Jeron Johnson to graduation and with them went 135 tackles and 5 1/2 sacks from a season ago. Senior Cedric Febis will likely replace Johnson but he’s helped in the secondary by George Iloka, who has started 27 consecutive games. Byron Hout, he of the infamous punching incident with LeGarrette Blount two seasons ago, will start at one linebacker spot with Aaron Tevis at another.

Should Boise State survive the Georgia game the Broncos will likely be favored in every game going forward with its two toughest tests—Air Force and TCU—both coming on the blue carpet. It could mean another fall of watching the polls, crunching the numbers and debating the Broncos’ merits even if the numbers of the last decade bolster the argument they’ve reached the elite." If Boise State beats Georgia then it looks like they will run the table and be undefeated at the end of the season. They will not have a problem with Air Force and they have TCU on the blue turf. What do you think about an Alabama vs. Boise State NC game?

Noting what Herbstreet said recently about Boise and his thought that they could be a team to watch, If Boise beats Georgia, watch out because after Georgia there is no one on their schedule that can beat them.

I take issue with that schedule getting NC consideration. UGA is a middle third of the SEC team and they are the toughest part of their year?! 7 SEC teams will play that same UGA team, so who is that ONE game impressing?

If UGA is middle of the pack in the SEC, that implies that nearly half of the SEC would be better than UGA just like Boise. What logic is that that Boise should make it to the NC game above teams like Bama, LSU, Arkansas, and South Carolina?

Boise will make it only if they are the only undefeated team in the nation...and even that will be a shame.

The biggest flaw we have with our Current BCS system is not that a playoff doesn't exist, its that a team from a Non-BCS conference could ever get close to a National Title Game.

So they have one decent non-conference game and if they win that they should be in the title discussion?, meanwhile the real conferences haven't even begun their conference games yet.

Its a shame and if it were to ever happen, its the one thing would move NFL above College football for me, regardless of how big a Tide fan I am.

For Boise to make it to the championship game...they would have to go undefeated and blow out just about everyone.....all while impressing the voters and computers. Not to mention, several really good teams would have to lose and some of those teams may have to lose twice for Boise to squeak in....and if Moore gets dinged up....they are done. Lotta things gotta happen.

The weird thing is the actual biggest flaw with the current BCS system is that a team has to be from certain conferences to participate in the BCSMNCG. If people don't want certain teams from being in a 16-team playoff....then take them out of Div. 1 football.
It's that simple.
You want them to be involved in the regular season? Then you have to allow their champion to be involved in the post season. You don't want their champ involved in the post season? Then take them out of the equation all together. Major CFB would be much better off capped at 100 teams anyway. But

But, Boise St. & TCU most certainly would be one of those 100.

Anyway, if we can't meet up with Oklahoma then Boise St. would be my next choice actually. And I hope we win in 3 OTs.

I would be disappointed with every play. The only way it would be remotely satisfying is to beat the ever living crap out of them so badly that they were the laughing stock of CFB for the next 10-15 years. God knows if we lost we would be. I cannot describe my hatred for that team.

It would still be a hard jump to get over an OU undefeated team and a SEC with no losses as well. A one loss team from a major conference just might allow them in.

I think it'll also be interesting to watch in terms of conference realignments.
