šŸˆ What can we do to attack

tOS weaknesses? Are they susceptible to the run up the middle or around the ends? Are they susceptible to screens or slants or post patterns? What’s the best way to attack them?

Looks like they give up an average of a lil over 200 rushing yards per game . So i think i start there till they commit an extra player then turn the Heisman loose and metchie will probably be singled the whole game . If Metchie can produce , we will just need a few stops and they wont be able to keep up after that . IMHO

Actually, they give up around 90 yards on the ground and close to 290 thru the air. Their corners aren’t very good at press man and they like to bail early, giving up a lot of underneath stuff. I look for curls and comebacks early and then double moves to break their backs.

1. N. Harris has to be able to run the ball with some consistency. If the OSU DL keeps him in check, it will be a long night.
2. We have to be able to work on their corners, the DB's have not played well all year IMO.
3. TE is the forgotten man in most games. Use F and we open up so many more things.
4. As much as possible, control the clock by not scoring too fast.

That been a hard thing to do this year! I mean you going tell D.S and the other to slow down?

Great question @bamaledge, and I appreciate the wording. "ATTACK"! The beautiful thing about this season is how it's felt like there has been an attack mindset. Every game offensively, and most games defensively. You just can't win 2020 football by playing on your heels and hoping the other team loses...

I have no idea whether or not an agressive blitzing mentality makes sense, but I've always contended that if the QB is comfortable, there will be problems. I'm thankul to @UAgrad93 for posting those stats, it shows how many strengths we truly have. It also points out the issues with 3rd down defense, which to me just emphasizes the ability to create negative plays on 1st and 2nd.

Offensively I feel as confident as ever coming into this game. Defensively, I feel optimistic. It's just so important to take away those huge plays that Clemson gave up, but still play with the aggressive mentality.

I think Day has this attacking mentality also. That is fine but the winning at the line of scrimmage is going to dictate everything. Bama needs to be able to run and Jones needs time. Flip that for our D, need to shut down the run and put pressure on Fields but keep him in the pocket at the same time.

I am repeating and stating the obvious from earlier posts. Only reason I emphasize this is tOSU may be the first team we have faced that potentially matches up talent with us. In their game with Clemson they simply whipped Clemson on both sides of the ball at the line of scrimmage.

I think score quick and then limit shit over the top and (hopefully) slow down Surmon and it becomes ND part deux

force them to need to throw the ball to keep up and let the mistakes pile upon them

dance with the hot ass offense that brung us to the dance in other words

IMO, if we manage the clock a little better, we keep the OSU offense off the field. I am worried that Fields has the ability to sit back and throw at will if we do not get a decent rush on him. I am really concerned about across the middle, just behind the LB's or passes to the backs in the flats. May be 100% wrong and concerned about nothing, sure hope so.
