I was in New York when I got word that he had taken the job, and still there when the word came down that he was passing on it. I don't know if being away from home caused this or not, but I had little reaction to either bits of news. I just didn't see what all the fuss over him was about, and I thought Bama was hiring another unproven commodity. The Big East is not the SEC. I thought he'd be an 8 win per season coach. NOT good enough at Bama.

I"m glad Bama opened the purse strings on another West Virginia boy. This is a good 'un.
