🧑‍🤝‍🧑 / 🏡 Well this is just awesome (but not really)

Not a lot, but I do have some. I REALLY don't like using it, though.
Oh I hate having to touch it for any event. Been saving up since I graduated college and got a job. My wife had to dip into while I was away at basic and had pay issues with finance. Luckily the back pay was worth it but there is nothing worse than going through bank/pay issues.

My deposit finally hit Friday night (around 6:30). And I got an email today saying everything had been resolved regarding the deposits, payments, and transfers. Thankfully I only had to pay 1 bill using my savings. But that money got put back.

I also found out that it wasn't just Capital One. A couple people I work with had the same issue (1 guy still hadn't received his paycheck by 2:30 yesterday), and we all use different banks. So it wasn't just localized to Capital One.

I have an open-end loan with my bank (credit union) with a credit line of 10k just for emergencies. Balance stays at zero unless a said emergency happens and I need the money quick, I can instantly transfer to my checking if needed. I believe I've used it maybe 2 or 3 times in my 40+ years of banking with them.
Yeah I keep a HELOC with my bank. Just for emergencies.

Many credit unions have credit card rates at nine or ten percent. I pay my water bill with mine each month (Coosa Pines out of Childesburg/Sylacauga) so that it remains active, and it's a relatively low-cost unsecured borrowing option, free if paid off by the due date. I'm also a member of NASA FCU, they're decent size (over $5 billion) and have most services of a community bank. Both the Coosa Pines and NASA apps work well for me.
