And, one could argue...

Minnesota '35- '36

...point is, it's not the first time.

That was back in the day when the Nebraska-Oklahoma game was one of the premier games of the year. Actually a little bit later than that. Now they don't even play every year under the Big 12 rotating schedule.

I like the SEC approach there better. Alabama-Tennessee and Aubuen-Georgia are just too important as traditional rivalries to not have these games every year.

Well, all we have heard all year is how the BIG 12 was far better than the "Down Year SEC" A once considered, and still considered (according to AP poll) a mediocre Ole Miss team handles the Super Texas Tech team, Texas squeaks one out against Ohio St., and Florida hands it to Oklahoma...allegedly the best offense since the invention of the football...Defense wins championships...sure you need to score some points, but DEFENSE is the key to winning over the long haul.

The SEC is 5 - 0 in the BCS title game. Nobody else even has 3 wins. Most conferences have only 1. All but the SEC has losses.

The SEC is now the ultimate power in the universe. *Goes and blows up Alderran*

Devil's advocate not just against you tick but all the pro-SEC fans. Not one of those involved Alabama (bet you didn't know that? ) Now what exactly does that do for Alabama? What exactly does being able to tell a recruit that LSU and Florida have both won 2 NC's in the past decade do?

Nick Saban walks into said recruit's living room while Les Miles and Urban Meyer wait outside...what's he going to tell them again?

Again, I know I sound like a jerk and you should know I don't mean it against you tick or anyone else personally. I just don't understand the thought process of being so excited about Florida winning a NC for the SEC.

ah, ok - thought I'd heard it reported that no conference had ever won three straight. Thanks for the correction.

I believe it's the first three straight BCS champions from the same conference, so they'd just be looking back to 1998.

If Alabama could have stayed undefeated and won the MNC, it would have been the first time that 3 different teams from the same conference won consecutive titles. That's what was being reported, anyway.

First time in the BCS era. :D

I can hear it now...in a few years, AP titles don't count. :D

I've already started seeing people discount UPI titles...that poll is what is now the Coaches Poll.
