šŸˆ GAME THREAD Week Three- SEC / NCAA Games of the Week TV -- (Who is on upset alert this weekend? Dare I say, Notre Dame?)

Vandy taking on the domers.

Look, it's not a game where we're going to look at Vandy and see the latent "SEC, SEC" crowds come alive. But, could it be? Yes, we know there's a talent disparity between the two programs. Is there one when we compare head coach to head coach? (I'm going with the 'anchor down' fella versus the one throwing soccer balls on the field to create adversity.)

It's one of those games I look at and see ways for Vandy to pull the upset--but in my heart I just don't feel it will happen.

Total Offense of each SEC team after 2 games:

1. Texas A&M.....630 ypg
2. Ole Miss.........596 ypg
3. Miss. State......578 ypg
4. Missouri..........577 ypg
5. Alabama.........559 ypg
6. Auburn............494 ypg
7. Georgia...........491 ypg
8. S. Carolina......447 ypg
9. Kentucky..........441 ypg
10. Arkansas........435 ypg
11. Vanderbilt.......407 ypg
12. Florida............403 ypg
13. Tennessee......358 ypg
14. LSU................316 ypg

LSU has converted just 7 of 27 on 3rd downs.

So I thought that perhaps LSWho?'s bravado might have been a bit too much after Week 1; however, Notre Lame seems to surpassed them. Three INTs and nowhere near a blowout v. the might David Lettermans.

I'm hearing the hype since Miami, but without sounding too harsh, Burrows still looks like he can only take what the defense is giving. Without the hail mary to end the half he still only produced 119 yards through the air. We shall see.

You're concerned about saying something harsh about another SEC teams' quarterback who happens to also be a carpetbagger pretending to be Cajun?

Here is what I'm still seeing.

Auburn is about to play LSU.
Ensminger is bringing in a QB that's seen action in a dozen games or so.
He is throwing the ball at about a 50% completion rate.
On average, we're seeing about 150 yards per game, but it's a bit deceiving of a number.
We're looking at one guy that looks like a serviceable running back and he's got a couple behind him.

Sound about right...

...for 2008 Auburn with Kodi Burns, Ben Tate, and Steven Ensminger?

(...and then you start thinking about how Canada Franklin was bringing in a high powered offense at LSU Auburn and how Franklin Canada was fired at Auburn LSU and there was a tight end coach sitting in the wings... )

Merely a magnificent use of phraseology on my part. It's why I put up his stats and where LSU resides among their peers in the SEC. After 2 games they are certainly not exceeding the offensive output of the man they just fired for extreme offensive ineptness.

This Saturday will be another snoozefest on the scoreboard. Without Aranda's brilliant scheming, it wouldn't be a contest.

Barrett Sallee (CBS sports) is picking Ole Miss to beat Bama outright. He points to the rebels prolific passing game.
I know they have a good offense, but they can't stop a high school team on the D side. If we'll sustain long drives and not try to get into a shoot-out, I think we score points and keep their offense off the field. I know that ole miss is going to play their best game because they're at home and it's Bama.

I still think we win this one. They haven't faced a DL like ours this season and I'm counting on the pressure to get to the reb QB. That should slow down the passing game. What do y'all think about Sallee's comments?

These talking heads aren't any better at this stuff than you and me. That is not an exaggeration. I have always rolled with Vegas over FPI, and pro vs joe and dudes like Sallee. Besides he was 6-9 against the spread last week and 1-7 in the SEC. If this guy had to bet his money, he couldn't keep his lights on.

Anyone else think there is easy money taking Oklahoma this weekend? Scoring over 60 in their two games where Iowa State scored three against Iowa. I kniw Vegas is dang good, but something almost seems too easy here.
