So what has Baylor and TCU's recent success be attributed to? And with their success and seemingly "fun" system to play in; why are they not attracting more elite prospects?

They're 21 and 17 respectively for 2016 recruiting classes. You'd think it would be higher given their recent success.
If you play for one of those schools, do you have to pledge like at BYU? No drinking or sex or whatever? Could be a big turn off to some recruits, if so.

I'd say a combination of things. I'm probably missing a few...
They play in a weak conference, who else do they have to compete with worth a shit?
Texas (and Oklahoma) pushing out Nebraska, Mizzou, and TAMU set the table for this.
Art Briles was a really good HS football coach in Texas. My opinion, Baylor isn't on the same level as TCU.
Gary Patterson is a really good coach and he did a great job while in the MWC, he's just building on that now in the Big XII. He's able to get better recruits, he's already proved he can do more with less to a certain degree.
Texas wasn't landing the talent they normally did. But that also let other out of state schools come in and grab top talent.
Texas A&M being in the SEC opened the door for TCU to enter the Big XII (smell ya later MWC).
We played Wylie East last night, lost 32-31. They have a RB who's the #13 RB in the nation (#23 best recruit in Texas), 4* Eno Benjamin and he's going to Baylor. I think he had about 300 yds of rushing last night. Last week we played McKinney North, they had a 4* SDE Just Madubuike who committed to TAMU a few weeks ago. This dude was good, he's 6'4 235 and pretty damn quick (rated #16 recruit in Texas). He was in the backfield all night long. Our RB is going to Boise State (he's the #260 recruit in Texas if that tells you anything). Our HS won 3A state back in 2008, has moved up to 5A due to the growth in the area and we're just a small town right now, population of about 16k, expected to be 75k in about 20 years.
Happy for Strong, but if Im a Sooner's fan; I am calling for Stoop's job. Year after year; Oklahoma seems to underachieve....The Georgia of the big 12.
