Well, the IU at Oregon and Michigan at USC had bad numbers because their prime time is pretty late for Central and Eastern time zones. By that time (here in the east), most people have had their share of football and are winding down.
3:30 ET kick on that game. That's ABC going head to head with CBS in the afternoon and losing by big numbers with a top ten matchup.
ABC has been killing it the last few weeks for games. Even if you were limited to an antennae you've seen three good games back to back to back over the last few weeks. This Saturday looks to be the same thing.

Even with that, there has to be hundreds of thousands of bars in the Southeast alone playing these games on TV while folks are out drinking. With betting being made so easy, parties, restaurants/bars, I don't think those are valid reasons why a 3:30 or 7:30 West Coast game would lag compared to an SEC game. I don't know what the criteria is for viewership, but even if I fall asleep at 12, I am usually watching the 10:30 "prime time West Coast" games for an hour, atleast. Does that count as a view? If so, then there is no reason why they are lagging and blaming East Coast bias.
