There's almost 1.5 million that's been wagered so far this weekend with over a half of a million bet on the Clemson vs Louisville game. (The majority are taking Clemson and the points so far.)

Did you know ULL has given up 114 points so far this year to SE La and Tulsa? And they are facing A&M with an O/U of 61.5?

LSU in for a wake up call this weekend?

Who do you have? Who are you thinking about?

Documented 16-12-1 from same person
That's not too bad there, dinky. I'm sitting at 13-7 ATS so far here ... little bit better in the "real world."

A few I question this week on your calls:

Saturday
Kentucky +6.5 South Carolina

Memphis +3

Memphis UCLA under 73

Kansas +7.5 Ohio

Clemson Louisville under 57

Wisconsin BYU under 41

Missouri -7.5 Purdue

North Texas +21.5 Iowa

Florida -5 Tennessee

Texas USC under 67
The only difference in what I've picked and your picks this weekend (those we've picked the same game as compared to the games in the Sportsbook) so far is Clemson vs Louisville. It was posted at 56 and I can't see the under, at all.

I've been looking at UK vs UofSC and I'm leaning towards UofSC and the points. I haven't pulled the trigger yet, but I have my doubts UK can keep it in single digits much less cover +6.5.

And, I have no clue why I keep coming back to the LSU vs MSU game...the game just seems off to me. Sucker bet with Vegas looking to bring in as much on LSU as possible? I'm really beginning to think that might be the case. Hrrmmm.

Kirk Herbstreit Thinks Mississippi State Will Beat No. 12 LSU

After an eventful Week 2, this weekend’s slate of games features fewer big names matchups, but there are still a few games worthy of your attention.

One of those is an SEC matchup between No. 12 LSU and Mississippi State.

Herbie thinks the Tigers are going down. Herbstreit spoke on his podcast Herbstreit & Fitzsimmons.

ā€œIt’s gonna be Mississippi State loading up with 15 guys at the line of scrimmage against Derrius Guice and that running game….the game is being played in Starkville. I love the quarterback for Mississippi State, Nick Fitzgerald.

When they win, everyone is going to get on the Mississippi State bandwagon.ā€

Will the Tigers lose on the road?

Mississippi State and LSU kick off at 7 p.m. ET and the game will be broadcast on ESPN.

Here's the link to the podcast...another pretty decent one on college football from ESPN.

I keep hearing this kind of chatter emanating out of Starkvegas and by pundits in the know. Can a new defensive coordinator make this much splash in Bulldawg fortunes? Personally, I would like to see them do it, but I think Aranda will scheme a defense from hades against the QB. Fritzgerald will have to have a big day with his arm and get some turnovers for the upset.

Grantham has had his critics and his supporters--a lot of the latter right now due to his attacking style he's brought to Starkville. Let's not forget, when he was DC at Louisville (recruiting defensive players less talented than those at MSU...Petrino is simply NOT a defensive guy) he had that defense in the top 20 for all three years--two of which were top 10 defenses.

Here's what I can't just walk away from:

LSU lost to MSU in '14, had a missed FG or would have won in '15, and gave LSU a good run for their money up through the fourth quarter last season only to win by three.

We can point to "the talent at LSU" all we want but it's evidenced their "talent overload" hasn't favored them as well as you would think. And, let's not forget, these games are always early on in the season so it's not like LSU, or MSU, has been dealing with a rash of injuries. (I do think LSU played eight OL against MSU last year.)

Leaning more towards that +6.5 as the day goes on...

My brother has spent the first 2-3 weeks of each season in Vegas for the past 20+ years. His contention is that the odds makers don't have a clue until 3-4 weeks into the season. There has never been a better example of that than Purdue-Missouri this week. How in the hell MO was a favorite over Purdue is beyond my comprehension.
