🏈 We need a dual threat QB

When Coker ran the read option it really sparked the offense. It could have been they were keying so much on Henry as well, but while watching it, i kept thinking if only we had been doing this all year. Early in the season, I came to the realization on how much trouble Blake got us out of with his feet. Saved alot of sacks on a line that struggled. Blake Barnett is a mobile guy right? I thought we have a dual threat QB committed right now, is this correct?

Why? Having a dynamic, stats-based QB does not mean you win games. Coker's success running the ball was because nobody expected him to do it.

There is truth in that, but creating more variables to present legitimate threats for the defense to account for clearly benefits the other offensive weapons and creates more options. Who wouldn't want that? Doesn't mean you have to change offensive philosphies, it just gives you some more tools to pull out when the ones you are using aren't working.

Coker 8/44 yard with 2 sack for 22 yards loss. He had a 17 yard run. On his passing he was 18/26/0 2 TD longest pass 55 yard. He may not be the best QB but he not lost a game he has starter. I just wonder why Bateman got the start over him in the Ole Sis game? Maybe he was hurt? I don't know, I do know that we got a good staff and I will let them do their job. That also include our friend Lane too.

Didn't they say Coker had a stomach bug or something?

We have a dual-threat QB. He may not be lightning in a bottle, but he's big enough to where he can easily pick up 5 yards if he's not met behind the line. A lot of OCs around the country would be using Jake's running ability a lot more often

That's why Tom Brady and Peyton Manning will never succeed in the NFL!
League has changed so much the last decade to where you hardly run the ball and cant touch the QB without a penalty. Dual threat QBs will become more prevalent. I feel like we are moving in that direction with our recruiting as well.

That's Gold!

You a comedian?

Bateman got the start because up until right before kick, Coker was running a fever. He had a respiratory infection. This was evidenced by him sucking on an o2 mask after every series.

You know I couldn't see that from my radio. :D All I know is that the team play better, but we still turn the ball over?

There's more to being the starter than your passing ability. I love Jake's pluck and grit, but his accuracy on most longer throws is not great. It is a place he needs to improve. Jake's experience, size, knowledge, team relationships maybe, etc are why he is the starter. Not his ability to hit 'em in the hands in stride on a 20+ yard route.

Cooper is a more accurate passer over 20 yards. He is also exponentially faster on his feet.

That's all i was saying. Not really a dis to Jake. Just one guy vs. another.
