Wow! I think back to all the stupid things we did with fireworks growing up... (launching bottle rockets from a moving vehicle, holding roman candles, blowing up various items with m80s, making a device that would shoot 144 bottle rockets at someone during bottle rocket wars)

I'm thankful.

I used to work in an ER and would take pics of nasty stuff that would come through like this.

I now work at UAB at their Eye Hospital. Had a hand surgeon come through a couple months ago to bring a relative in for eye surgery. We were talking and sharing stories when I broke my phone out and was showing pictures. The doc took her phone out and I had to put mine up. She was a hand specialist for UAB and had some gnarly pics. She says that 4th of July is her busiest week. Stuff like JPP coming in all week long from all over the state.
 
My son-in-law had a 2" diameter hyd press punch through his hand 4 yrs ago this Sept. Took 4 surgeries and he still lost 1 and 1/2 fingers and a large portion of his palm. I cleaned and dressed it for him every night for 3 months. I gained a new perspective on hand safety/injuries from that experience
