| FTBL Vols linebacker Kivon Bennett (Cornelius' son) dismissed from team after being arrested on drugs, weapons charges on UT’s campus

Cornelius gonna get him.

According to the report, the officer found around 44.9 grams of marijuana, a black digital scale, 58 plastic baggies, one Glock 17 9MM handgun.

Just needed money for his family since college football wasn't paying him enough, right? All messing around aside, what the heck is going on with these guys? Georgia Southern just had four players popped for this exact same thing. I understand they may not all have NFL riches in their immediate future, but a free education puts them in front of sooooooo many other kids coming out of school loaded down with debt, that these guys actually have a legitimate shot to turn it around for their families. Everyone screams about that perpetual cycle of socioeconomics, but when you look at this, how can you not call some of the decisions what it is, stupidity, instead of blaming other outlets?

“The old lessons (work, self-discipline, sacrifice, teamwork, fighting to achieve) aren’t being taught by many people other than football coaches these days. The football coach has a captive audience and can teach these lessons because the communication lines between himself and his players are more wide open than between kids and parents. We better teach these lessons or else the country’s future population will be made up of a majority of crooks, drug addicts, or people on relief.” Coach Bryant
