Terry - that link goes to a parent directory. Is that what you intended?

I'm sure it is. It's a great listing of past games. Easy to compare the two seasons. Parent directories are my life. LOL I find them much more user friendly than a well designed homepage. LOL

Thanks for the share Terry, great find.

Hell, I spent almost a good half hour going through some of those links just watching different football scenes.

Any, mine is right, it's a chance to look at the '06 squad, their '07 squad, and see the differences in approaches.

So what do you think Terry? I noticed a good bit of the spread and the I-formation. He have any other formations that we should know about? I'll have to look at the videos when I'm at my place.

He fits what we've been doing with a few wrinkles thrown in...

Biggest thing that struck me was watching the QB play from '06 to '07 and the improvement.

Something people haven't mentioned enough is that his QBs only threw FIVE picks last season. Three of those came after Fresno had fallen behind against aTm, Oregon, and Boise St and were passing on every play trying to mount a comeback.

He had a good tight end to throw to. The guy made some nice catches.
Great find Terry. This answers a lot of my questions.
Looks like I'll be dissecting those vids for a while. :D

Noticed that also, pretty impressive. Nice find by the way. ;tr

Thank god we have someone that knows how to run some power formations. I was screaming for a good FB formation last year. Was it me or did we hardly run the "i" or anything else unless we got in redzone? Maybe it was just me. Want to see the TE's and backs out of the backfield used more. We did not run enough under stuff and screens last year for my taste. Guys looks like a good hire.

The TE's need to get used more and I expect them to now. I don't know for sure but ,someone correct me, we didn't have one that could block and catch.
Now I'm not positive on that but that would seem to be the reason we didn't utilize that postion more last year. It's something we have been missing for quite a while.

We could have used more TE's in our playbook, yes. A lot of that lack of action fell into the lap of the OL. Considering so many shuffles in personnel we needed another body to block a lot of the time. Nick Walker and Travis McCall played in all 13 games, Nick leading the way with receptions. Heck, he had more than Brown and Stover...5th on the team in total receptions.

Didn't realize we threw that much to him. That's a good thing.
Good point about the oline, forgot about the lack there of. Can't imagine how I could of though.

I've got the actual numbers saved somewhere but the numbers were just way lopsided to DJ's favor. I want to say DJ had close to 70, Caddell came in with 40, and McCoy, Grant and Walker all in the mid 20's.

Also, if I recall correctly, Walker was a little shy of averaging 10 yards per catch.

OT: Got a neat watch with the USB memory chip integrated...who knows where I took the watch off or I'd put up the exact numbers. Sad, isn't it?

OK, we've talked about the OL now for the past what 10 years?

Is it too big of a leap to say we were doing better and headed in the right direction before textbook-gate? We couldn't make a yard or 2 at least a couple of times vs. ULM, so we knew at that point we had huge problems (if we didn't know it before).

This might be a tough question to ask and really may end up being more than one question. How much of this type offense will depend on the OL strength (or weaknesses as the case may be)? I know having Antoine back will play a huge role in the development of the O line. Are we to expect that the O line will once again be our Achilles heel or will the new blood from the past few recruiting classes help with that situation?

I assume when Saban said that no one wants to change direction and this is Alabama's offense that we won't see a shift in the overall system. I also assume this would be a good thing for the O line. I guess my Magic 8 Ball question is when will the O line actually advance our progress rather than impede it??????

Delta, that's a good question. I'll leave that to the guys with a bit more x and o knowledge than I.
Like you I'm tired of our Oline getting man handled by what seems every team we play, regadless of who it is.

Terry, that watch is pretty slick, water resistant too!

You should have seen some of the looks I've gotten with all the Bama stuff I have saved on it. In fact, I got into a discussion the other day about a bowl game, told the guy to hang on a second and I'll pull it up. When he saw me plugging in a watch to my laptop he almost had a stroke...

Experience is going to weight a lot this upcoming year. As will another spring in the 4th quarter program.

It's easy to say it was the text book situation that caused some of the breakdowns, but only Andre' made it through the season and he played hurting a few games.

What we've lacked on the OL the last few years isn't so much bodies or talent available, it's been development. When we had to go to a back-up and saw that seriously hurt our OL it tells you a lot about how much time had been spent developing this guys...and that doesn't include having to "un-learn" 4 years of questionable (insert bad if you want my personal opinion) coaching from the former OL guy. (It's pretty easy to agree with myself seeing the problems UCLA had this past season. )

FWIW, look for us to sign 5 or more OL in next years class.
