🏈 Va Tech

I think that Va Tech went "all in" on the Boise game and when they lost, they crapped out. It could a season for them like our 2000 season was after such a promising 1999.

Great point by Bill King on Rivals Radio this morning: Va Tech is still undefeated in the ACC, and every teams' goal is to win it's conference. Is there anyone in the ACC right now that you would feel comfortable crowing the champion of that conference yet? Embarrassing to the ego for Va Tech, but JMU does win a lot of games it plays, and I think they've won their version of the National Championship recently.

So far, to me, Frank Beamer has been a great teacher of football fundamentals. Now, he gets his chance to prove he's a rebuilder as well. His efforts to get this program to where it has been, from where it was, are remarkable, especially considering his recruiting classes will never be, and have never been, like bama, texas, florida, etc. But, now, he has to deal with a team that had high expectations, and is now an afterthought.

Yeah that "big win" doesn't look like much now.

I said the other day that even though VaTech should have beaten Boise IMHO, VaTech is still becoming that team. They're still looking more and more like that overrated program that has passed its' prime. In my opinion, VaTech is in slow, gradual decline.

The entire ACC is becoming everyone else's warm-up game.

Duder, my reference was to us having won the SEC in 1999 and had a lofty preseason ranking going into 2000. We lost at UCLA and the wheels fell off to a 3-8 season. No mentioning of Southern Miss needed. 3-8 is all that is to be said. Va. Tech could be seeing a meltdown like that if things don't get resolved quickly.
