🏈 UT offense vs Bama defense

I have a good feeling about how our offense will play so lets discuss their O vs our D.

People can say what they want but Bray has an arm when he has time. He has potent weapons at WR and a decent oline. How do you see us attaching them? I feel we can stop the run as we've shown that. I expect UT to have a few wrinkles as they always seem to for us. If I were UT I would use play action, quick slants and try to move the pocket to get one on one with his WR's. They will have to have some rushing success for that to happen. How do you see that battle playing out?

BTW, I forgot Sentimore is with UT. Sal doesn't seem to have them playing up despite the reunion.

intangibles...With the heat turned up on Dooley's seat, he may come out and throw it all up in the air from the playbook. Despite the heat from the divided Vile nation, the players are rallying behind Dooley. They had a players only meeting yesterday asking players to get on or get out. I expect them to be fired up about this game despite their fans seeming to throw in the towel. I fully expect us to come in guns a blazing ready to bash pumpkins!

One thing I am worried about is their slant route they run....They have 2 options, go inside on the actual slant route, go deep on a fade route...

We'll do fine against their run

Intriguing match-up though, Dee Milliner versus Patterson, Zach Rogers versus Deon Belue...Adrian Hubbard will have to generate some serious pass rush though, cannot give Bray time in the pocket

Its gonna be the biggest test so far this year defensively imo... its no secret what they're gonna do, try and drop bombs on us all game. Our best defense against Bray is gonna be our offense... long, physical, punishing drives all day long and keep him on the sideline. Defensively do what we do, mix up the coverages, make Bray think too much and hopefully get a good pass rush with a 4 man rush most of the game with a few blitzes tossed in there.

the number of interceptions and points from those benefiting Bama will outweigh what little success they have in the game.
Bray likes to play the first half... then he stinks it up in the 2nd. don't know why but i've seen it 2-3 times this year that way.... also he appears to not perform that well under pressure. good for us.

I'm with jdpas here.

Specifically...

I think we'll blitz him a few times in the first few possessions. We may in every passing down. The reasoning behind that is to get in his head—make him hear or imagine footsteps for the rest of the game.

Then, as jd mentioned previously, we see him fall apart as the game continues.

Because of their quick strike ability, it leads me to believe we pour it on quickly as well. We sit back and rely on the running game when we've got that 17-21 type point differential in the score.

Not a big deal, but Rogers is not their #2 WR, Justin Hunter is...and he's a stud.

For their short yardage/goal line situations they tend to put AJ Johnson (Blake Sims' HS teammate) in the Wildcat Formation. They have yet to throw a pass with AJ Johnson in at QB...

I wouldn't be shocked in the least if there were some trick plays that were a part of their playbook this week.

One thing's for sure - Patterson's a heck of a WR and whoever is matched against him will have to keep an eye on him.

This is how I see this going.......

We'll blitz on most passing downs, they'll try the run, get nowhere, Bray will get hit almost every time he drops back, he gets jittery in the pocket, he falls apart in the second half, and finally the lights turn out for the party.

Be another one of those "sign of an ass whipping" games.
