šŸˆ UT admin have the I cause for firing Butch?

Honestly....I doubt that most any HC would play a damaged player...most anyway...
Maybe he did... it will come out...
Especially when the season is in the dumps already....... hopefully he didn't allow a known concussion player on the field

Botch can't claim he didn't know. The medical staff has to notify the coach immediately. This has more than just a warranted firing coming. Botch will possibly see a lawsuit coming from the player as a result.

UT looking for an easy out with Butch's buyout. Perhaps working with Butch to have his buyout paid over a 10 year period would be their best plan. If I were an AD then my approach would be to pay a higher salary from the get go with a buyout of no more than 3 million for either side (to be paid over 5 years). Butch like Jim has already made enough money they could retire today unless they have really wasted millions.

All they need is an affidavit from one of the training staff stating Bitch was indeed informed, and the Vile admin can fire with cause, correct?

Would they still owe the buyout in a with-cause firing? I'm sure that's probably a semantical question pertinent to his contract, specifically. But it seems to me that him knowingly endangering the life of one of his players would negate the buyout completely.

So this was mostly via a text from an unnamed source that the admin responded to?

I'm guessing kid went through protocal and was cleared by medical staff. In that case it's not on Butch.

But yes if he was told the kid was concussed then he's in trouble. I seriously doubt that's the case though this day in age... Which happens to be the same era of fake news... And at a place where they'd love to get him fired I'm waiting for "the whole story".

In the case of being told/not being told, it becomes a he said-he said issue. At the same time, helmets are usually taken away from players who are concussed or injured in some other way so that they can't insert themselves into the game. Thirdly, if a doctor or medical staff saw the player going in, s/he has the right to pull him. If Butch overruled the medical staff, then he's in trouble. Bottom line: I think people are making up a scenario that didn't happen.

Agreed Old Player. Well said

I live in Nashville and the chatter is stating Butch was never told at all about it and that it was the Line coach who thought he might've been concussed but didn't say anything. However, in this instance there are 3 people whose job it is to see that he is out of the game.
1 - Team Doctor - Main priority of doctor is to diagnose players he believes are unstable or wobbly in concussion protocol
2 - Trainers/Medical Staff - Also part of their jobs to assist the doctor in diagnosing and finding issues
3 - SEC compliance and concussion member - One of these at any game can pull player from field at any time during the game if concussion or other issue is seen. Clearly on the broadcast you can see him wobbling and showing concussion like symptoms.

So if they intend to go through with this. Then they are condemning the medical staff and likely won't be able to win a lawsuit against Jones anyways, because it's not in his job description to deal with those things.

And to add to my post. apparently TN has a policy that tells it's medical staff to not address players unless they approach them first to be dealt with. A policy put into place by the administration, so it's really all BUT the coaches fault in this case.

That's what I was trying to say in my original post... That it would be more of an administration issue than the Coach. Don't think UT wants those problems.

So far just hear say anywhoo... Thanks for the great post
