To me, Sarkisian is a so-so hire for USC. They went for a company man...
I don't know about you guys, but this isn't a good PR move on USC's part. Leaking that he left like this is tacky, Orgeron turned that team around after Kiffin's mishandling... Quite frankly, its putting Orgeron in a bad light.

So was Lame Kitten. No way could he ever be considered a home run hire. I agree with Chief, however. Looks like not hiring Haw Haw was a correct move.
He knew he wasn't going to be the coach (he had to), so I'm a bit skeptical on the whole "outraged" part. It was pretty clear that it wasn't an audition situation.
It would not be out of the norm for Sark to not have to interview. They know each other and have vast experience together. This could have been as simple as "Hey Steve, this is Pat. Well, what about it?" "Sure Pat, I'll do it." And the rest gets played out on ESPN and in Twitter-verse. This happens behind the scenes more than the "due process" and "school policy" folks want to admit.

This was probably done months ago so why didn't they give Coach O an interview if for no other reason than to keep his tail feathers from ruffling?
OK maybe weeks ago but my point was to keep Coach O happy. Giving him a interview would look better on his resume and would at least kept him on board until after their bowl. Just poor management. IMHOIf they were done months ago, why reach out to guys like Del Rio?
