Maybe an underlying factor why Town wants to leave. Well, that and his sense of entitlement.

You asked what his players must think of him. Probably think they can relate to him. "Coach Sark is cool."

I'm sure Woody Hayes, etc were guilty of things like that back in the day, we just didn't have cellphone cameras and twitter to instantly show the world.

CNS said once that he doesn't even drink anymore because "if someone sees you with one drink in public, suddenly you are an alcoholic ". Head coach of a D1 program is a whole different standard. Really not many jobs that compare. Even CEO of large corporation gets more slack.

Self-righteous, sanctimonious behavior by Haden. He knows (has known) what kind of cloth Sark is cut from. He's never been that polished, made for public appearances kind of guy.

Sark is not your Mike Price type. Think Bob Connelly with beer ... although no one knows how to kiss ass better.

This is mainly why I choose not to drink. I am in public education and coached HS ball for many years. Having one with dinner or one to wind down could be your death wish in small town Alabama. All it takes is one pissed parent or player that you have benched or limited their playing time and now you are raked across the coals.
