At least one coach has Ohio State, winner of 21 straight, ranked in the top two of his coaches poll ballot this week.
Urban Meyer said at his weekly press conference he has Alabama, Ohio State and Florida State ranked in that order.
"I had us two all year," Meyer told Cleveland.com of his Buckeyes. "I just think we're playing like one of the top teams in the country right now."
Ohio State is coming off a bye week and plays at Illinois on Saturday.
Meyer said, at times, it has been challenging because he doesn't get a chance to see everyone play. But he did see a variety of teams play this past weekend.
"There are some very good teams in the country, and I believe we're a very good team."
