🏈 Update: Kiffin to FAU (Bama OC through playoffs)

I thought Kiffin got a bump to 1.4 mil in the summer?

University of Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin's salary will roughly double to $1.4 million under a contract extension approved by the system's board of trustees on Friday. “This would be what the top coordinators would be making, and Lane has been very effective for us for the two years he has been here. We feel like this is very appropriate for what he should be making,” Athletics Director Bill Battle said.

I missed this raise, but wonder about the Extension designation? Not sure when this bump would have come into play or if it would at the end of the current 3 year deal? And since everyone is talking that his deal is over in Feb, would this extension have not gone into being a real extension?
Need a law degree to figger this'un out

Kiffin has always reminded me that some people just can't stand prosperity. It's sad in some ways because it often isn't about the intellect, but more times than not, immaturity issues get the best of our intentions. Even with all the opportunities, Kiffin just doesn't make wise decisions. Immaturity genuinely seems to ooze from this guy.

I wouldn't give to much thought in what a LSU homer has to say.

I was under the impression that the raise was an amendment and not an extension. Basically his USC money ran out so they had to up his pay to what they were really wanting to pay him.

I think that all this speculation is ridiculous. Coach Saban has it under control and brings complete professionalism and wisdom to the coaching chaos. I think Kiffin will stay like Smart did last year. He doesn't have a lot to gain by leaving before the playoffs are complete. I'm pretty sure that the dead period in recruiting starts very soon so he won't gain much ground at a new position. He has a championship to add to his resume and a lot of hard work and player relationships to be proud of.

Lane 'Woody Hayes' Kiffin is being run off for hitting a player. Video evidence. Glad I could clear this all up.

Seriously though, if he leaves I will miss his tweets and sideline antics. The touchdowns he signaled before they happened were great. I hear Sark is pretty entertaining at parties but not sure of coaching style. Hopefully it's not one in the same anymore.
