Update...49ers Reuben Foster talks about offseason court case (suspended 2 games)

@sk33tr go back through this thread and look at my posts. A quick synopsis is this, CA came up with an "assault weapons" bans several years ago and then proceeded to list any weapon capable of accepting a detachable magazine, including handguns. Anything over a 10 round magazine is illegal. It is really pathetic out there!!

What I'm trying to figure out about that latest article is what is the point? Literally the only "new" evidence is the broken cell phones. My biggest issue with this whole thing is the video. Supposedly the DA is claiming he needs "more time" to review the video yet was told about its existence long ago. Not only that, she has attempted to recant her story several different times (especially after the video leaked on social media).

I think the throwing her dog across the room may be new as well. To your point though, outside of the phone and dog, this has all been hashed out in public.

It's also hearsay with no way of proving he actually did that. At least with the phones you can actually show a broken phone. If she is admitted to lying about beating her, is she lying about kicking/throwing/whatever the dog? This whole thing is a mess.

True victims have a history of recanting in order to "save" the relationship. As a result, prosecutors have made an effort to thoroughly investigate any DV event to make sure that those who do commit a crime do not escape justice.

In almost all DV cases it is extremely hard to prosecute hell it’s difficult to arrest somebody for DV because unless there is physical evidence it’s he said/she said.

As @OldPlayer said victims have a history of recanting because they want to “save” the relationship, fear, pressure from friends and family, etc.

I’ve had DV victims with physical injuries use every excuse in the book for their injuries

This I know but we are talking about a situation where there is video evidence of her getting her injuries from a fight with another woman along with her recanting her story.

Have you seen the video? The DA needs to look at the video and compare it to the injuries on the woman. Do they match? Are any not where they're supposed to be?

No, Facebook/Twitter pulled it almost immediately. The point is they've known about the video even before it leaked onto the internet, yet he filed charges before he ver saw it (supposedly). How is that what's best for the case? Sounds like the DA jumped the gun thinking he was about to make an example out of a football player.

DV cases are a hot button. If he did nothing he would be crucified by the media, politicians, political activists and most certainly Gloria Allred. Even if nothing comes out of it, he needs to demonstrate that he made a thorough investigation to appease everyone.

just one more reason i'll never live in that fascist state.

Considering California is a left wing state and fascism is a (far) right wing ideology, I'm not sure how that works out.

Dont worry, the majority of people you see tossing around words like "fascism" and "communist" or "Marxist" tend to not know how that works either.

Ridiculous. If true, she needs to be punished with jail time for this nonsense.

Agreed, filing a false police report is a misdemeanor, though (I THINK). Only thing saving her is that she didn't lie under oath.

Anyone DA that would go to trial knowing they are going to run into this women's compelling testimony is a DA not looking for re-election. This is one of the nastier cases of "hell hath no fury like a women's scorn." Apparently, she made a credible and even scary witness.

I read where she has probably set these type of domestic abuse cases back with her confession. I would think that's only fair. The law enforcement agency and the NFL needs to keep doing their due diligence and every case is different. If this is shocking that she would lie like this than people better know there are some mean, nasty people in this world. And women, as well as men, are a big part of the social disorder in this country.

Idiots like this make it that much harder when women like myself have to make actual, real accusations .. FFS. People don't believe us to begin with, so why the hell would they listen to us when morons like this gotta make shit up to profit?

Sadly, it cuts both ways. This hurts real cases of domestic abuse and it paints an innocent as guilty. Even now, many will still look at him as guilty, saying he paid her off to recant.

No matter what, he is guilty of not checking this chart before going out with her...
