⚾ 🥎 Until last night I wasn't aware the use of electronic devices were allowed in college baseball.

I have thought for a while now that it should be allowed. Especially when calling plays in to the QB. It is relatively cheap in the grand scheme of CFB. Allow the QB to have an earbud like they do in the NFL.
Don't hold me to these dates.

I believe it was 2016 when the NCAA actually approved moving forward but the ruling was rescinded the next year. As I recall, one of the biggest objections was cost.

I'm sure this was more for the have nots as opposed to the haves. I dare say all the teams in the major conferences can do this with out batting an eye. It would be the UAB's, SMU's, Memphis, Troy, etc that compete with all the big programs on the field (sort of)....but do not have the deep pockets to back them and the revenue generated by a true "major" program.

As I recall that's exactly what they said mentioning how some visiting teams wouldn't have the same equipment/technology. IE: Your Bama vs the ULM's of the world.

If something is fundamentally more effective, EVERY football team will make the adjustments. Also, I wonder how much money they'd save not having a whole staff on the sideline working the signs to just one guy sending in the plays electronically. Front end cost at first but it could be recovered in labor alone. Sorry, the bean counter in me couldn't resist.

You had to mention ULM? Visions of Coach Charlie Weatherbie driving the Warhawks over on a yellow school bus...DJ Hall suspended for first half...Jimmy Johns fumbling inside the 5 going in...Saban compares the loss to D-Day or Pearl harbor and is eviscerated by the press...those dark days evaporated when we signed the *1 class in 2008 then beat Clemson's a$$ in Atlanta...what a ride!!

You had to mention DJ and JJ?!? 😈

Ya know, if Saban would have been hired a year earlier I seriously doubt either would be on the team. How JJ lasted so long still shocks me. But, Saban and his "second chances."

Yeah, loved it when I read that Saban ran their a$$e$ out of the locker room after the bowl game of 2007, to address his "real team". Believe that if his plans were short termed, he would have ran them off plus some others. To me, that was the "tell" that he was going to be here long term.

Johns wasted a lot of talent and size. Always pulled for that guy. We called him the Candyman. Brother and I got to see him up close and give him a high five at the FSU game in Jacksonville in ‘07. Swore he looked like candyman. Side note, got to say hello to Tracy Woolfson at that game. Man is she…. short. Lol I couldn’t find a good photo of Jimmy to use here.

Remember CNS saying during JJ's time at UA, "I'll show you a linebacker, one with his ass down, head up, and will light you up". He was not talking about JJ but referring Rolando McClain #25 (Orlando McCain, according to Verne).
