UGA up 42-30 now.

Poor Vern sounds depressed...

Heck, I get depressed having to listen to him.

Tebow played Superman in a 5th grade play. Vern brought the pictures from his bedroom and living room to prove it.

I couldn't stop laughing when they showed that.

Which reminds me . . . I really feel sorry for Todd Blackledge (not really but I'll pretend so). He finally breaks from the Vern Dumbquist Show and who does he end up calling games with now? Mike Patrick.

I notice you guys who started this thread are eating crow. I enjoyed seeing Florida get beat down. It's obvious now that Coach Richt got them motivated. As for as wearing a halo, I don't think any of us have reached that plateau but I do know that Coach Richt and his secretary prays for my GA wife every day. She receives a letter from him him at least monthly to encourage her not to give up and to keep fighting her sickness. If he ever leaves coaching it will be to go in to the mission field.

Now that UGA won it doesn't look as stupid as it would have with a loss.

Please, please pick me up off the ground and slap me if Alabama ever does that for any team.

I know he's a good guy, personally, I like him... My point was/is he isn't the epitome of class that many make him out to be. He proved it today with his little pre-planned celebration stunt.

Yeah, I can't believe how bad Florida's defense has played.

huh?? this has been one of their big question marks all season, because its so young. this is completely expected.

Yeah, but UGA's offense isn't anything to brag about. Giving up 42 point to them = poor defensive performance.

maybe you didn't catch this originally, Florida's defense has been suspect all year, they lost almost all their big guns last year.

Still, Georgia has a young offense. I still don't think Florida should have given up 42 points to them. Florida's defense had only given up 23 points a game this year, and Georgia has averaged 25 points on offense. Florida was 2nd in the SEC in rushing defense giving up only 94 yards a game on the ground coming into this game. They gave up 42 points and 196 yards on the ground to the Bulldogs today. I consider that a poor performance, and it did surprise me.

That TD stunt should take some of the polish off of Richt's halo. That looked like something like something that Miami circa 1988 would do. Or maybe the California Penal League. Now, his team is going to get beat down because of it...

Yeah, all my talk of Richt being classy has definitely went out the window. That was a trash move.

The fact that he told them to do it is even worse.

Not only did Richt tell his players to do it, he said if they didn't do it he would be very upset at them.

Yup, that's what I meant.

We're very lucky that didn't end up being Miami - FIU all over again...

Agreed. As heated as the UF/UGA rivalry is, I am surprised a fight didn't break out.

It was risk vs. reward. Those 30 yards he gave up could have bitten them in the butt and stole the objective and momentum but it didn't. It was (as a former poster suggested) like children on a playground but we do need to remember, these are young men out there and often, passion and heart have as much to do with the outcome as everything else if talent level is close. I think he was looking for a way to motivate his team similar to our on-side kick to begin a game. If the score is any indication, it worked. I was, however, pulling for GA since Bama has no opportunity to play Fla and I am sick of Tebow.....and it would be very sweet to have a rematch in Atlanta.

All I know is that I'm not nearly as upset about the UGA loss now, all things considered. UGA's win is good for us.

I was kinda shocked to see Ga. win. I figured they'd loose this game, badly.

Oh well, living in Ga. I'll have to hear about it ALL week now.

It's against the rules, they were penalized.

I have to say, it was a psychological move on Richt's part. Albeit brief, it had the UF team baffled for a little bit.
