During a media teleconference Wednesday, Georgia coach Mark Richt fielded questions regarding his decision to make changes on his staff. He announced defensive coordinator and secondary coach Willie Martinez, defensive co-cordinator and linebacker coach John Jancek, and defensive ends coach Jon Fabris will not return in 2010.

I look for Kirby Smart's name to be brought up a lot for this job opening. I hope and doubt he takes it considering it is only a lateral move, even if it is back to his home university. I would think he would hold out for a SEC head coach opening to come along................I figure we will lose Sal to a DC positon somewhere.

There is no question in my mind that this move was made today in order for Richt to compete with Fisher for Smart. If Fisher is working with the same check book that Bowden had, then FSU can pay him considerably more than Bama or UGA would. But Texas A&M probably offered Coach Bryant more than Bama did, so it's not always about the money.
