šŸˆ UF QB, Treon Harris, suspended after sexual assault allegations. (UPDATE: victim drops charges)

Indeed @TerryP! I meant really both of their losses. They seem like they have no identity. I know that they have been decimated by early departures to the NFL in the last couple of years and it hurts. I saw LBs that looked like they were playing two hand touch instead of tackle. Reminded me a lot of the Barns last several years at LB.

When Chavis was at UT they had years where their tackling was sub-par, at best. Others that were very solid defenses. I've seen seniors that were sub-par, and on the other hand seen frosh and sophomore that were as good as any.

Much like LSU, we're getting the same type (athletically) athletes as we have been. But, it seems to me the percentage of those who have the fundamentals down pat along with those who can catch on to the game, quickly, at this level has dropped. My gut tells me it's the lack of time head coaches can spend with these kids in evals during their spring ball camps of their senior high school years.

I agree wholeheartedly @TerryP . We have talked about the QB position before and how evaluation is so hit and miss. The fundamentals get skimmed over. Hell! It is even happening now at the jr high and high school levels here in AL. The AHSAA is limiting the amount of time that coaches can spend on a "heavy" practice. They want 90 minutes! This is the evolution of football I guess.

A friend has a 10 year old son who is playing age group football. I cringed when he told me that the coaches (granted that they are volunteers) were teaching them to use the head in tackling. No wonder concussions and other head injuries are so prevalent.

@psychojoe I refused to all my son to play at the Rec League here until I could get out there. He played one year and that was last year. He is now on the jr high team. Too many times, we see wanna be coaches that teach improper techniques and as they get bigger and stronger, the collisions become more violent.

A couple of guys getting into a fight at practice is one thing...can't say I've heard of campus police needing to be called. But, then again, this wasn't about a heated battle during practice.
