Which marks the most losses by AP ranked teams in any season in the poll era.

To date, it's been a crazy season. I don't see much sanity returning this year. To quote Josh Pate, "Renaissance season."

I am beginning to think that the teams that have 6th year seniors (COVID exception from 2020) & 5th year seniors are having a real effect on teams that aren't used to having that age/experience. Most of the top 10 that is used to early draft players have been struggling against teams that have that depth.

It would be very interesting to see the actual numbers on this & how it has faired.

It’s been strange for sure.

But… surely there’s been many seasons where 19 ranked teams lost during the season. The stat confuses my simple brain. That would mean 6 teams go undefeated each year (if they only use the AP top 25)? Or is it the most ranked teams to lose in the first 3 weeks?
