🏈 UArk brings something new for our defense—may seem good, but is it?

It's no secret what the 'Backs are doing this year. What does that mean for the defensive scheme?

It means we'll be in our base the majority of the game. However, this makes the first game we've ran out of our base defense.

It would seem that having a offensive scheme leading to our defense playing the 4-3 would be right up our wheelhouse. BUT, as mentioned, if we haven't been playing out of our base this year it means the defense is going to be in a scheme they've had very little experience with this season.

I fully expect some hiccups.

I suspect play action could give us some issues. Back 7 have to play their keys. Safeties have to read those TEs and make sure they are blocking and not scooting downfield.

Keep an eye on special teams this weekend. I realize Jones released the ball too early on the opening kick last weekend that resulted in such a bad kickoff (and subsequent return.) It's my opinion UArk has the best KO return unit in the SEC right now.

Hopefully we'll find something to be happy about. Like above, I'm very worried about play action.

We'll finally be back in a defense that we've been very dominating against most of our opponents. And, I say this without being sacrilegious or negative toward them, one that CKS and CNS are "experts" in teaching. I'm sure @TerryP there will be hiccups but I expect a more dominating defensive performance this week.

Ragland and Reuben Foster def. worry me with the play action but I think the d-line is going to hold up extremely well.

Agree play action could be an issue for us this week. I am also concerned with the two RB's the Hogs use. Hopefully, with us being in our base D, we can attack the offense more than we have been able to up to this point.

I really don't see a problem with your talent and coaching. We are still finding our way in the SEC under CBB, but finally showing a willingness to fight and our D is finally slowly improving. We are at least a year away in depth, and probably 2 away from actually being in every game until the end. I am hoping for 2 sec wins this season. Probably against LSU and Mizzou... GA is in there as well. I see a Bama win by 10-14 pts honestly. I would be at the game but suffering some health issues at the moment and sold my tix. Anywho, heres to a great game and no more injuries for either team.
