šŸˆ two teams which gave us trouble in top 30

Alabama has to be the ONLY team that has fan base that can be 6-0, coming off of back-to-back 60+ dominations and just because it had a game that wasn't a complete and utter destruction, the world is ending.

This. Also, consider the fact that most of us are of the age that remembers more games with Curry, Dubose, Fran and Shula than the Bear years. We (me for sure) are spoiled rotten and unlikely to see this kind of dominance again in our, our kids/grandchildren's lifetime.

Once again, I apologize for drunken posting in game thread. I blame hurricane Nate.

Well...,....as things were back then....
They are now....
I remember people growling about games Bama struggled in....
And even....gasp....wondering if it was time for Bear to go....
......we played a good opponent last weekend...in very hostile atmosphere....and won...

I remember those game The Bear had, Southern Miss is one of them!

problem is we got used to winning national championships

I remember during Curry/Dubose years I would check to see how much was the payouts for new year's day bowls and hope we make it. Sure did in 99.

During Curry years remember beating big time teams like Pennstate and Tenn. Was not happy about fan reaction to Curry though

Well....curry and others...were HCs that were going to get us talked about...but in reality...never going to lead us to the promise land...and each had us in top of polls...not very top but up there....except Stalling of course....who won the Nc and close in 94
But their success at Bama...was more Bama then the HC...
Dont know any that had success after leaving Bama...

Coach Curry also lost to Ole Piss on homecoming and didn't have a single damn pass completed!! Lost to Memphis State one year I believe as well. Never beat the Barn. I was recruited by Curry and was on his last team in '89. He put tons of emphasis on the Vile game, played damn Rocky Top throughout the building ALL WEEK, but not as much placed on the Barn.

Hey, EasyTider, I got spoiled under the Bear (mid-60s thru early-80s). The decade of darkness (1997-2006) was especially difficult. This feels like old times! Roll Tide Roll!!!
The current situation is pretty awesome, we should all enjoy the ride while we can. With that said, I don't think it will be generations before we see another period like this, but it could take a while.

50+, you're absolutely correct. A prime example was 1969 and 1970, just prior to the wishbone era at Bama. After 6-5 and 6-5-1 campaigns, there really was talk of letting the Bear go, but that went away quickly in 1971 (which started with a victory at Southern Cal).
Our current team is moving along just fine. We had a less than standard performance and still came out with a victory. Things are OK folks.
