🏈 Two days later and it still hurts!!!!

How in the h@ll did we let the BARNERS come back and beat us?.

Was it our coaches ... did we get run down... did we just get out played in the second half?.

I thought it was obvious....1) Richardson dropped a TD pass at the goal line. 2) Ingrams fumble through the endzone = lost points. 3) And GMACS redzone fumble..= lost points.

Everyone knew going into this game Auburn was going to score....our offense needed to execute to win the game with the hope that our defense could just slow them down....which they did.

BUT that game is over and gone....history......as far as im concerened, a distant memory.

I'll argue with that. How quickly people forget about 36-0 just two years ago. How humiliating was that? Wan't that beyond "utterly?" We lost by one point. We made many fatal errors and beat ourselves. I don't think that is humiliating.

The single point difference in the final score isn't the point - it's blowing a 24 pt lead to our most hated rival and doing so at BDS that's shameful.

You know what I think is humiliating and shameful.....all this woe is me bullchit...oh dear baby Jesus...how could we lose ??? Get over it already....its over and done....none of us spoiled azz fans were on that field.....had my lazy azz loaded with turkey and dressin  I suspect the players are light years ahead of us with respect to getting over the loss. We just won a National Championship...and beat the Barn two years straight....not to mention two straight years of undefeated regular season play...chit happens...sorry, but even the great and almighty ALABAMA cant win every game. Ingram has played three years for us and has busted his azz to do well....along with Julio...hell he plays with something broke, cracked, or screwed together every week, DJ playing with a severe groin pull, Barron has a torn pec, Trent still with a banged up knee out there trying....and GMAC played a damn near perfect game.....The staff had the gameplan to win....I think I can cut the boys some slack over this one.....now lets enjoy our bowl game and get ready for next year.......RTR :a:

It's not a matter of win or lose in this case. A hard fought loss we can take and put behind us easily and thus accept that chit happens. But what continues to stir the pot of discontent , what drives the continued beating of a dead horse, and the endless threads expressing disbelief, is how they lost it. An utter and total collapse by a supertatively talented roster with a 24-point lead. This type of loss affects fans on a differently level. There's bound to be a lot of grieving, whining, and exchanging of threads of WTF and I Can't Believe.... It's all about healing this type of wound/loss.

BTW: bought a nice pair of red cotton track pants today and some iron-on letters, so I can customize them by putting ROLL TIDE down one of the legs!! And let the healing continue!!

Amen. With a close loss, out comes the talk of intangibles, or the lack thereof. No "leadership", no "commitment" and such. We should all take a deep breath and change the channel or click the mouse when we encounter such nonsense. Would this team have had no "commitment" if Trent catches a pass, Mark hangs onto the ball and Barron doesn't have an uncharacteristic lapse on the long TD pass to start the 2nd half? I saw players giving their all on that field, so was it the coaching? No. I also saw good plays and good defensive sets go to waste because of incomplete execution. Had you told me that Cash Newton would register 39 yards on 22 carries and Darvin Adams would tally just two catches, I'd say we win.

This one hurt, and many are searching for answers when the real solution is to get over it and move ahead. When folks start talking "intangibles", they're usually talking straight out of their arse. Period.

It's always a good day to be an Alabama fan. A crappy loss like this just sets my resolve. I've been behind "enemy" lines enough to know what makes the other side tick, and they reek of ill will and insecurities.

well, the way i look at it.. we basically shut auburn's ground game down.. nobody has done that all year.. most people said it couldn't be done..

2 turnovers, 1 dropped pass, and 1 easy interception that barron misjudged.. these 4 plays (none of them auburn's doing) and bama wins by 3 touchdowns..

We've been complaining about our defense all year. They stepped up and had an amazing game. I'm proud of them and secure in the knowledge most of them will be returning next year.
Doesn't take the sting out of the loss, but it is something to hold onto.

Great post Tim!

Back in my days of being a competitor I would agonize over the close losses. There were always places where you could have done something better or different and it would have been enough to win. No one likes to get blown out, but a blowout loss leaves little room for the "we could have" to figure in. As has been stated there are multiple places on both sides of the ball where we could have done something better and won.
