šŸˆ Twelve Years Ago Today...

And to give everyone a laugh at the know-it-alls of our neighboring state fish wrapper.

From the Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Jeff Schultz, when Saban took over at Alabama . . .

But know this about Saban: He was miserable in the NFL, and in time he’ll be miserable in Tuscaloosa. Perhaps college football is where he belongs, but he picked the wrong place at the wrong time to ease his throbbing temples.

Alabama used to be a top 10 job. Today Alabama is a cartoon. It’s symbolic of everything that is wrong about college athletics. (Most recent evidence: giving $32 million to a football coach). Saban is the Crimson Tide’s seventh coach since Bear Bryant left. He’s the fifth in eight years (counting Mike Price, who held the position only for an offseason of lap dances).

There are at least five schools in the SEC with more strength, stability and promise: Georgia, Florida, LSU, Tennessee, Auburn. (Alabama gets the edge overSouth Carolina only because of the alphabet.)

Dale Earnhardt died on Feb 18, 2001.

But dang, I know we were all excited when they made this announcement, but did any of us realize what we/he had in store? 5 national championships in the first 11 season. About to be 6 in 12.... And all these SEC championships. Playing for 7 NCs in 12 years. Just unimaginable. No one could have dreamed he’d have this much success. Crazy!

Schultz was the typical useless F liberal mouthpiece. The breed that lead to GT thinking they were special enough to leave the SEC in 64.
