The Ricky Tarrant era at Tulane is officially over, the sophomore point guard confirmed on Saturday. Tarrant, who took a visit to Alabama this weekend, has decided to transfer to the Crimson Tide.
The move ends a topsy-turvy few weeks where Tarrant was spotted at the Crimson Tide's NIT game, sparking rumors that he was transferring.

He asked for permission to contact other schools last week, was initially denied, but the administration relented, freeing him up to pursue a transfer.
His father and namesake said his son is transferring to play closer to his hometown of Pleasant Grove, Alabama.
Tarrant plans to finish out the semester at Tulane and then transfer to Alabama.
Tarrant averaged 15.7 points per game and had 125 assists this season. He broke on the Conference USA scene last season by being named the league's Freshman of the Year.
Tarrant is one of six players who have asked for permission to speak to other schools -- the first step in the transfer process.

So, I guess he will have to sit out next season?

Also, 1 of 6 asking for permission to speak to other schools? Wow, what is going on at Tulane for so many to want out?
