Pretty smart, shrewd move if you ask me. What better way to endear yourself as the new coach than to stick you neck out (or at least seem that way), sticking up for your school. I'll be he has a following now.

Wait till they see his offense. I wonder if they are ready for a less throwing style with more running? Or will he try to air it out like Leach.

He claims he is going to keep throwing. He went and hired a spread offensive coordinator. I can't remember his name but he was Tony Franklin's replacement at Troy, and that is where he hired him from. You would think TT would have learned his lesson. It will be interesting to see how this pans out. Tubbs will field a decent defense, that is his background. It will be interesting to see how he stacks up playing D in a conference that only has two good ones, Texas and OU.

He may have gotten reprimanded, but he said what many in that league feel. The league is still alive because Texas wanted it that way, and most of the others had no place to go.
