Local high school, huh? He'll be one of our boys, huh? Okay...Well, thank you for the news, June Jones.

2019 quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa, the younger brother of Alabama quarterback signee Tua Tagovailoa, is expected to transfer from Kapolei (Hawaii) to a high school in Alabama to finish his high school career, according to a report from Hawaii Prep World.

ā€œI think he’s going to Alabama with his whole family to watch Tua. That’s what I’ve been told,ā€ former Kapolei offensive coordinator June Jones to Hawaii Prep World. ā€œHe’ll do great. It’ll be a great experience for him. A totally different culture, obviously. He’s going to Birmingham. I haven’t talked to Galu and Diane, but they’re going up this year for sure.ā€

The younger Tagovailoa holds an impressive offer list of his own with the likes of the Crimson Tide, Hawaii, Oregon and Utah.

Taulia spoke with BamaOnLine last year discussing his interest in Bama.

ā€œThat’d mean a lot,ā€ he said of the opportunity to play on the same team as his older brother. ā€œI could learn the system. Basically I could get a head start going into my freshman year of college. It’d be fun, too.ā€

Last season, the 5-foot-11, 190-pound dual-threat quarterback put up impressive numbers passing for 3,919 yards and 42 touchdowns.

Taulia nor his family responded to requests as to which high school he'd be transferring to. Jones "mentioned" in the report Thompson High School in Alabaster.

Not now, not after what we (Thompson) are doing with our new high school and its facilities. It's going to be something else!

Thompson Warriors.

I had a female friend and her sister, whom I'd met in all-state choir in my HS years, that both went/played volleyball there. Her 1-yr older sister ended up signing with Samford.

I actually went on one date with the younger sister. She was in the homecoming court and asked me to be her date/escort. What I remember that night is that apparently Thompson and Pelham are big football rivals.

Hell, Thompson had nice facilities 20+ years ago.

We'll have the second largest high school in Alabama this fall, complete with so many amenities that I do not have time to enumerate, but I will tell you that we'll have an indoor football practice facility as well as an indoor driving range for the golf team.

PHS is a struggling 6A school (if they lost about fifty more students they could be a 5A school). They're more rivals in baseball, basketball, and soccer than they are in football. THS has crushed PHS the last two seasons.

Cool. Clearly the football rivalry isn't what it was 20 years ago...lol

How long have you been in Pelham?

Anyone else wondering how he put up such huge passing numbers when his brother was a senior and one of the best QB's in the country? Am I missing something here? Surely they go to the same high school, or else there would be other questions... Maybe he played on a 10th grade team or something?

Some have called us Alabasturds... Whatever. :)

Been living and teaching here twenty years

I coached soccer during the 2001 season here at Sylacauga. I floated between the girls and boys teams. First loves were football and baseball though. Hell, I even coached track and field and tennis here. Reason for the "Jack of all trades" name.
