🏈 Trivia: Last Alabama QB to win an NFL game he started in

Jeff Rutledge was a Banks High grad, my grandparents house was about 1/2 mile from that place...just up the road near thrill hill. My mom and uncle both graduated from Banks back in the 50's/60's.

That whole area has gone downhill.

This is kinda sad, but not altogether shocking. Who was our best QB between Coach Bryant's retirement and AJ? Record wise it was Barker then talent wise it was Brodie. As stated above, Brodie was on those awful Chiefs teams. Barker never got a start that I remember. It's hard to win games when you have had no one start the games. Although its not like we've had a ton of guys that should've gotten starts.

Richard Todd's last winning start was, interestingly enough, on his 34th birthday, November 19, 1984. The Saints beat the Steelers at home to even their record at 6-6.

Jeff Rutledge's last victory as a starter was almost 3 years later to the day November 15, 1987 when the Giants beat the Eagles on the road. Rutledge would start the next week, then make his final career start in the 1990 opener for Washington against the Giants in a loss.
