Blackout.

Blowout.

In a game that most Georgia fans would like to white-out from their memory, the 2008 showdown between Alabama and UGA at Sanford Stadium in Athens was a thing of beauty from an Alabama perspective. This game once again proves the old adage that games are won and loss in the trenches. It is becoming increasingly apparent that (at least in terms of starting five), no team is better than Alabama up front.

Turning our attention now to The University of Kentucky...

Touched on, but only slightly, is what this UK team has opened with in terms of players versus last year.

Yesterday, a new member posted a youtube video of their win vs LSU last year with the note, "this isn't your daddy's Kentucky."

Since he brought that up I decided to consider who was "my daddy's Kentucky" and I realized it was the type of team that was winning Sugar Bowl's. That is, until they decided to cross an Alabama guy who decided to leave the blue grass state for the desert like atmosphere of Texas.

But...

That youtube was the '07 Kentucky, and this isn't the '07 Kentucky team.

Their offense returns two players who "contributed last year." A team, which feature a good offense starts practically from scratch.

On defense, we hold a signficant edge with our DL versus their OL and our LB's.

I give UK a slight edge, ever so slight, when it comes to the defensive backfield. They do have game type experience versus a very young, but good, Alabama group.

Rich Brooks? The guy is good on special teams. Period.

It's one area the team was working on yesterday and will need to improve on in this game.

In this game I see us stopping their run while putting this game in Mike Hartline's hands. In fact, I'll go as far as to say it won't be Hartline, but Flatline by the final gun Saturday.

UK has a solid defense, but their offense is not very good. For the sake of brevity, I didn't go into turnover - only to say that their receivers as QB were new. Their starting RB is going to be out as well. Trickle Down football is the lifeblood of a KY team that does not recruit in the top 50...and that means no depth.

If we can run consistently enough to open up the play action, we win this game in a blowout. Their secondary is not as good as the WKU stats make them look - MTSU had 350 yards passing on them.

We are going to run, then run, then run some more. Heck, I see a good chance Grant gets several carries...since it's at home, maybe Goode as well.

I doubt JP throws more than 15X in this game, if that.

How much of our offense have we seen this season? I noticied we used a lot of motion against UGA when we really haven't done that at all this year. I only ask because we've been ahead in every game this season and haven't really needed to show a lot, so I'm wondering what we have still up the sleeve?

I know of one set of offensive plays....

Out of how many?

On the issue of the game at hand...you think that UK's defense against the run will be THAT exposed? I was not figuring on a 200 yard day. You seem to think it will be a repeat of Arkansas.

I think Arkansas has a potentially better offense (or at least more dangerous in design and talent level), but their defense is terrible.
