🏈 Trent traded to the Colts????

Where do the Colts end up this year - top 1/2 of the league or better right, so they just traded away the #2 pick that they traded up to get for say a pick in the 20's. The Browns just said one of two things 1) Trent isn't what we expected 2) we suck and we need to get a lot better in other areas first. The fact that they traded for something they can't get until next year is just puzzling and they picked up McGahee to tote the rock.

Guess this explains why they really haven't used him (but that could easily be due to their new OC as of this season - Norv Turner).

Did they just guarantee getting the #1 pick next year.

A few things. The Browns said that Trent didn't fit new coach Rob Chudzinki's offense and someone, I think maybe Jay Glazer, said something along the lines of "Browns say he doesn't fit the offense aka HES A RUNNING BACK... somewhere DeAngelo Williams is shaking his said." Williams responded on twitter by saying "yes I am." Chud has got the reputation of misusing the hell out of running backs then toss in Norv Turner's pass happy crap. But yeah its pretty much the consensus they're just tanking the rest of the season. The Jags vs. Browns game this season is prolly gonna be the Turd Bowl for the #1 pick.

Lord I can't stand the Colts. They are the most unappealing team in the NFL, even with Andrew Luck. I wish the Falcons would have opened their eyes and worked a deal to get Richardson. We sure could use him after Grandpa Steven Jackson got hurt. Richardson is still my favorite NFL running back, but man I'd wish he'd go somewhere where he can actually be seen by us in the South and for a team worth a crap.

This is a great trade both for the Colts and for Trent. The Browns are about as committed to winning as I am swan diving off the Empire State Building.

With this trade the Colts just went from pretty good team to a very good team and now Trent is with a team committed to winning

Im a Falcons fan too and I'm disappointed about S-Jax gettin hurt too but I'm also logical. Calling him "grandpa" after just two games and throwing him after the bus especially with how terrible the o-line has been is pretty ridiculous. And its also ridiculous to think that after paying that much for Jackson they were gonna trade for another high priced big time running back just two games into the season. And are you honestly saying the Colts aren't "worth a crap." I mean really?

Apparently what it boiled down to is Browns CEO Joe Banner and GM Michael Lombardi want their own players and coaches. They got their staff and now they want to try and build their own team. Personally, I hope the organization remains a tire fire.

Guess it's going to be more pass happy for them, good news for Trent either way.

im in shock as i just found out , but i understand the move from the front office perspective.
Trent will succeed in Indy im sure, i dont think he did bad for the Browns, theres not much he could do since no opponent ever had a reason to respect the browns passing game.
I just hope it works out for both sides, Trent will be healthy and the Browns pick enough QBs to hit on one .

Interesting. RT @billbarnwell Richardson's YPC distorts his level of play, as @fbgchase noted: http://t.co/PhQAxdPmCI

Since 1970, only 13 first round rookies have recorded 70% of all running back carries by their team. Two of those players were Richardson and Tampa Bay’s Doug Martin last year. Of that group, Richardson did post the lowest YPC average, but he was within 0.1 YPC of LaDainian Tomlinson. The next two lowest averages belong to Robert Edwards and Emmitt Smith; the former suffered a career-debilitating injury in a beach football game after his rookie season, while the latter ran for the most yards in NFL history.

I don't believe it. I mean this is good news for Trent and the Colts because of how committed they are to the run. and he gets to compliment Andrew Luck; but how stupid are the Browns to release their only play maker?

Ah man the Colts are a fun team to watch. But is Steven Jackson out for good this year? That other RB Rogers is still pretty good for a little fella.

Bamaraider,

You are correct in that Rodgers is a good little back, but he's not stacked like a Richardson that can handle 20-30 carries a game. Jackson is out for atleast a couple of games, but I was more or less talking about longevity. Richardson is my favorite player from Alabama and I wish the Falcons would have gotten him, especially after passing on Lacy in the draft.

I just don't like the Colts uniforms, their field, their personnel outside of Andrew Luck, and they are just boring to watch in my eyes. I grew up a Falcons fan, so of course I'm biased. I was slowly pulling for the Browns for Richardson's sake. They're like a Vanderbilt where at Alabama we really have no reason to dislike them, but of course they're not our team so we can't truly like them. I know, I'm a little weird in my dislike for the Colts considering they have never really posed a threat to my team, but just one of those quarks we all have I guess.

No, hes out 2-4 weeks. Rodgers is a good back but his running style just want last him long because of his size. Hes powerful and loves to run through defenders but hes just too small to be able to handle doing that 15-20 times a game.
