Demps is gobbling up 9.4 yards a carry. Richardson is a Florida native who raced Demps in the state track meet a few years ago, and says he thinks the Gators star was the only runner to beat him in the 100 meters that year.
''For the first 40 we were going at it,'' Richardson said. ''After that it wasn't a race. He's pretty fast. I think after 80 meters he was already like 10 meters, maybe 20 meters in front of me. That dude was fast.''

Curious who is simulating Demps for us.......Sylve maybe ?

Trent might not have remembered the other guys ahead of him as well.

This is 2008. I think Trent was a senior but this says Junior.

A 10.93 is still pretty darn fast for a guy of Trent's build.

This would'a been a spring thing, TR was class of '09-- therefore in '08 he was a junior and Demps is a senior now.

Right, he was a junior. This is the race he mentioned though, when he raced Demps. That was my point, that Demps is not the only one that beat him. Would I want Trent on my high school track team? Heck yeah. Demps is a rare talent though.

Demps has come down almost a half second in in the 100 meters and that is remarkable. He pr is sub 10 now.

Agree completely. I'd rather have 10.93 and bulldozing linebackers than 10.4 and trying to get around the outside every time

I would as well, but you have to admit there is something about having someone who can take it to the house on any play. Like I mentioned a post ago, Demps isn't 10.4 now. He's 9.9? Still want to pick the bulldozer?

During the Arky game, Joe Adams caught one and reversed the field, getting a first down.....he didnt gain many yards but it was obvious on that run that a couple of our players took poor angles and underestimated his speed. If our guys do that with Demps...that wont be good. Adams has possibly been the quickest player we have faced so far this year until we face Demps. Sylve was our only player that I could think of that could possibly simulate Demps speed.

Sylve ran 10.30 wind aided as a senior. Pretty darn quick, especially for a guy that didn't even have a track to practice on at his high school.
