Report: Former Alabama RB Trent Richardson will sign with Ravens



Trent Richardson is getting another shot in the NFL.

Pending a physical, the former Alabama star will sign with the Baltimore Ravens, according to AL.com‘s Matt Zenitz.

In 2011, Richardson became the first running back in SEC history to total 20 or more rushing touchdowns during one season. His huge year helped Alabama win its 14th national championship, and the Cleveland Browns selected him No. 3 overall in the 2012 NFL Draft.

He's working out at a place called the Warehouse in B'ham. Supposed to be a tough / good place. We'll see...

I should phrase it better, you're right we do have 4 RBs coming back, however the only truly proven one is Justin Forsett. Buck Allen played a lot after the injury to Forsett, but is still a young guy. If Richardson can play, he will be a welcome addition.

I'm sure he's a badass in the gym, I have no doubt about it. But he ain't much of a badass on the field which is what matters the most.

This seems like an outstretched hand by Ozzie. I wouldn't doubt it if Saban called him up and asked if he would take a look at Trent. Right now for T Rich, it's baby steps. Survive the cut. Make the team. Go from there. Baby steps.

They have three backs on the current roster (Lorenzo Taliaferro, Justin Forsett, and Javorious Allen) and only Forsett has any meaningful playing time tho Allen started the games that Forsett was injured for this year and barely had more than 3 yards per carry during that span (ironic because Trent's career yardage average is a little more than 3 yards per carry)... B-more would be a pretty good place for him to go, split carries with Forsett and hopefully catch a second wind in the NFL.
