Everyone across the nation is dumbfounded... They're wondering why the SEC brain trust said AJ McCarron is the third best QB in the SEC... They either think Manziel is, hey he IS the Heisman Winner that said the was best in the nation, or wouldn't the guy with 2 BCS Championship rings on his finger as starting QB be the one? Why Aaron Murray, who has a lower rating than McCarron and chokes in the money games?

The good news is, Saban is happy that someone will be playing with a big chip on their shoulder....

I'm far from dumbfounded.

If anyone has been watching the media pick QB's in the SEC for recognition the last few years they're far from dumbfounded as well.

While Murray hasn't been able to bring home any hardware and has been pitiful in games that mattered he's still going to leave the SEC with several records in tow.

While I don't agree with him being first team—I'd have put Manziel there—I certainly can understand why. It's not a lot different than the time when Ryan Mallett was receiving all of his recognition.

Does anyone have the voting records of the voting for the SEC team?

Larry

I don't believe they are released to the public.

If I recall this correctly...

A few years ago we heard that Tebow hadn't been voted for the same position on the All-SEC team and later Spurrier admitted he'd made the mistake (or better put blamed it on his DFO.) I don't think it was a situation where he was asked "why didn't you," but more of a self-admitted mistake.

Again, if I recall this correctly, I seem to remember about six to eight hours of articles and blog entries coming out about "which coach did this?"

OK, what am I missing here? Johnny autograph carries Texas only and has 29%, Murray carries Georgia, Idaho, and Vermont and has 28%, and McCarron carries the rest including CA, NY, FL, MI, IL, PA, VA etc. and only has 49%. When you look at the number colleges in all those states vs. the rest, wouldn't McCarron be well over 50%?

There were dimpled chads in some of the votes.... (G)
